View attachment 127947 I just got back from taking a short round trip (from Miami, FL to Los Angeles, CA). I loaded up the truck bed with personal items, books and some small furniture. On top of that a full sized mattress and box spring. With a one way U-Haul car dolly a 2013 Fiat full of clothes and additional items. I averaged 13.5 mpg. Stayed between 55/65 mph. I hated that Bc the desert I10 runs were legal 80mph speed limits! On the way back parallel route further up route 66/I40 mostly, fluctuated between 13 to 16 mpg determined and limited to the elevation and if I was climbing or going down mountains. All this on full stock truck and original plugs/wires and a basic SCT BDX tune!
“UPDATE”
As some may know I replaced my truck’s spark pugs, wires and rebuilt the coil overs. I just came from another short round trip 1500 miles total. Not towing anything and a light load. Avg. speeds between 60-75 mph. From western NC to FL. No High mountains and temps from 35° to 70°. 93 gas and 5Star performance tune, w/stock truck. I got improved mpg compared to my western trip but not a big jump; 15.8 to 16.0 mpg. It’s hard to get this big hipped bitch to squeeze mileage out of her.

I offered this for information and consumer service to my fellow GEN 1 owners.

Got to draft closer and more behind tractor trailers. LOL
I drive the 95 a few times a year down to SC and FL,
average speed is 85 mph in the left lane until someone cuts in front of you.

my mpg went down to 13.3 because my tune is off. I need to get that back on because I can't stand the limiter not that I ever hit it.

i'm nearly 8000 miles into my ownership at this point and now that i've settled into a daily commute which is mostly highway with quite a bit of traffic, i'm getting pretty steady 11.5 now.

I have a very short, very slow speed drive to work. About 4 miles each way.

I was averaging 8mpg at first, did all 16 plugs on Friday, this week so far I'm at 9.5mpg. Only had the truck 2 1/2 weeks. Once I get some highway driving in I'll report back.
