I just did a 800 mile round trip all interstate. Had the cruise set at 78 the whole way. Averaged 13.9 for the trip. Going to do the same trip in 2 weeks. Next time I'll drop the speed to 70 and see if the mileage changes.

Ok, so which mods seem to provide better gas mileage.
Bakflip?
Cat-back exhaust?
Headers?
CAI?
Tune?

Anyone have any good data to support the above. I understand the Bakflip should help, esp. On highway. How about the others?

Over the course of 14,280 miles, here are my stats since I purchased the truck August 20th, 2010.

Code:
Total Fuel Cost $2,956.63
Total Mileage 12,130.9
Average Days/Fill-up 4
Average Cost/Mile $0.23
Average MPG 13.053
Average Cost/Gallon $2.98
Average Miles/Day 94.1

(The "total mileage" states lower than what is on the truck because I lost a few gas receipts over the time period)

I have a high mpg of 15.326 and a low of 11.461. Average between those is 13.394. My calculations on all tanks, as shown above, come to 13.053 which is within 3% of the average between the high and low.

Looks to be pretty accurate.

I made a trip from Wisconsin to Houston a couple weeks ago on the way to Houston I averaged about 14.6 mpg. While in Houston I put a flowmaster 50 exhaust on the truck on the trip back I averaged around 15.4 mpg. I have a 6.2 and always burn 91.

2011 SCrew with 800+ miles (stock). Tried a 'xperment around 2am. Looped 16.2 miles, mostly blacktop cruise-control at 50mph and about 5 miles of concrete no-cruise at 60mph:

4 x 4 high = 18.0 mpg

4 x 2 = 19.0 mpg

87 octane

I got 18.5 average MPG over a 400 mile trip yesterday in my '10 SCab 5.4L. Needless to say I was pretty impressed. Oh, and that was at around 65mph.

^^^^ 18.5 ain't bad at all!

I never once got mileage that good on a trip with my old GMC Sierra...most I think I ever saw was 16 or so. This truck keeps finding new little ways to impress me every time I drive it. So happy I'm back in a Ford.
