One and ONLY gas mileage thread please

I am with RDFTS. Now I know why I was avoiding this thread.

I have been driving very conservative just to get most mpg as an experiment. I believe it is because I barely see highway speeds all week. It's almost all stop and go most of the time.

I get 12-15 kilometers per litre with my peugeot 309 station
And drive about 500 kilometers a week

And that is a 1.6 litre

So i'm impressed you guys get 1:7 litre:kilometer with a 6.2 littre

I started reading here since I have had many tankfuls on 87oct fuel trying to max out mpg on my daily driver (this truck).

It is really mostly bumper to bumper traffic. I seem to no be able to get better than 11.8 on the stock tune. That is between 375 to 400 mile distance per fillup. Now I will see how it goes with SCT canned tune for 87oct gas. Then the 5-Star 87oct eco tune.

Tune will help. But bumper to bumper means lot of idle time
So its not realy fair

Someone should do something like : rotations per gallon x 1.000
Then it evens the playing field

Keep in mind that highest mpg is in highest gear
At he rpm where you have maximum torque ( rule of thumb )

I can fill it up (super crew) and it lasts me 6-8 days. That is 450 dollars or more in gas every month.

I had a cadillac CTS-V making 580rwhp that used up about 550 dollars a month. So the Raptor is an improvement lol.

E-85 costs more with the decrease in mileage. CNG is not big here yet, at least not in my area.

I do not even have E85 around. That would be nice... for the GT-R hehehe.

Don't know if it would do well for the Raptor. I don't even remember if it is Flex Fuel.

Only the 5.4L is FlexFuel. The 6.2L is not.

Would be nice if that could be an option for a performance tune.

Got my ass handed to me by a 6.7L modded Turbo Diesel and he cannot use that. Race happened just because his car was out with engine trouble. Now THAT would be fun even if I waste a tank on two passes.

Do the 5.4 trucks report performance improvements.
