Most recent change was the replacement of the factory muffler with the Magnaflow #12388 muffler, which is a straight-through design. That was 10K miles ago, but the mileage thing is much, much more recent.

Might have just got some bad fuel, try a different gas station.

I have been getting 15.5 in town and 16.5 to 17 on the Interstate for 40K miles. Recently observed a reduction in fuel economy by 1 to 1.5 mpg. No changes in driver, driving habits, driving environment or fuel. Vehicle diagnostics say everything is okay. Air filter is clean. Tire pressure unchanged at 44 psi. I don't get it. Any ideas?
I know your from Alabama so it doesn't get very cold, but I always notice a reduction in MPG and even power when it gets cold.

Summer blend must be coming back, because I've gained 1.5 mpg with the last two tanks. I was hovering around the high 12's low 13's and now I'm hovering around the mid/high 14's. I even saw the high 16's after filling up and heading down a 55 mph stretch of hwy for 5-6 miles. Quickly dropped back to 15'ish once the limit jumped to 65.
