Onboard air quick connects

I'm going to be installing an onboard air system in the Raptor. I am looking at plumbing two quick connects for ease of use, but I'm not sure if I want to plumb them front and back or one on each side - stashed somewhere near the running boards but out of harms way and out of sight. Opinions on which option to go with and why?

Also, I plan on using standard quick connects but I'm worried about all the crud they are going to accumulate. Are there any smart solutions for this, like some sort of cover for when not in use?

There is a thread where the outlet was run thru the rear license plate.....looked slick!

I run my quick connect on the rear bumper directly across from the cap/hole to lower the spare. I ran the air hose from the compressor inside the frame and out the bumper. I keep a cap on it when not in use so it stays in good condition.

That looks pretty perfect. Where'd you get the little cap? That's just what I'm talking about.

Did you do anything fancy to get that quick connect in there sturdy or is it just your typical threaded connection with the plastic between it?

I should have remembered it was you Big Blue! If and when I do something like this yours is the way to go.

It really is a perfect spot. Does not get in the way of the bumper step area and super easy access. I got the plastic cap at Ace Hardware. They sell 4 in a pack for like $3 and it fits perfect over the quick connect.

Have you had any issues with your compressor being exposed like it is? I realize the tank is fine as long as nothing is bashing into it, but what about all the dirt/mud/sand/water the compressor can be exposed to? I have a dual compressor setup I'm trying to monkey with and am worried about that factor.

Good question.

It has already seen plenty of water and dirt so far and zero issues. I am interested to see how it handles a Chicago winter with lots of road salt.

The unit certainly appears very stout and heavy duty and it think it may be all stainless steel, so I am hopeful it will take it without issue. I will spray it down with an anti-corrosive before the snow starts dropping.
