They are asking $23K for this one. It appears to be pretty stock minus the rims and I believe it had a K&N Air filter or at least it had the sticker on the box. Since I don't actually need one and just want one I am trying to stay in the low $20K which seems to put me in the higher mileage area. I did find two low mileage ones. One was a Molten Orange 2011 with 113K miles for $17K and was planning on buying it but I looked at it after the bank closed on a Saturday and made arrangements to meet the guy on Monday when the bank opened but he ended up selling it on Sunday and the other one was the 2012 that turned out to be covered in rust with a bunch of issues.a LOT of people buy used Raptors in the 150k mile range. Mine had just under that and I know 3-4 guys the same. Have had mine for 4-1/2 years now. Just getting to 185k. $25-$30k for around 185k miles. Give or take depending on whether stock or add-ons.
I grew on the Central Coast in Cali but never been to the Rubicon so it will be my first time but my friends that I am going with have been a few times. Here is a couple pics from Wolf Caves. I went with BroncBuster who makes tons of aftermarket parts for the Ford Bronco. His Bronco I believe is on 43s with Portal Axles.Nice! Been to Wolf caves and K2 a few times. Not bad. First time on the Rubicon?
I used to live in Cali so been on the Rubicon a few times. This was the last time I was there.
Gen 1 are hard to find in good shape for a decent price. Will have to drive if you want one.
Yeah, I had a 23 Bronco Badlands and sold it for the Gladiator. I was following the Ranger Raptor build series on Exodus 4x4 youtube channel. They put portal axles on it. It definitely looks a sweet truck and even Exodus 4x4 who mainly builds jeeps but they sold their shop built Bronco for the Raptor said the Raptor was so far the best truck. It is just too small for what I want to do. It can only tow 5,500 pounds.Good looking JT! I haven't been wheeling in a bit. I need to get my girl out and stretch her legs.
That Bronco is huge! My buddy had a nice Bronco but sold it for a Ranger Raptor. He says the Ranger Raptor is the best truck he has ever owned. Have you looked into them?
Since there are 2 newer generations, and these are going to be like the Bronco or Mustang Gen 1 vehicles in the future, (hopefully), a new buyer should decide if they want to buy it and keep it for another decade at least, or just buy it and enjoy it until they're ready to move on. I did exactly that with a '96 Bronco that already had a fully built suspension, prerunner bumpers, and an engine cage. I drove it until it no longer fit my needs, cleaned it up, and sold it through word of mouth in a week. They are asking $23K for this one. The plan would be to keep it but you never know. The Raptor wasn't even on my radar. I was looking at other trucks but every time would look at reviews or anything it always came back with the engine was only good till X miles and then it starts to have these major issues. I happened to see a Gen 1 Raptor for sale and looked into and found that it checked all the boxes and all the reviews I have seen say the engine is pretty bullet proof. Plus who doesn't want a V8 Raptor?Since there are 2 newer generations, and these are going to be like the Bronco or Mustang Gen 1 vehicles in the future, (hopefully), a new buyer should decide if they want to buy it and keep it for another decade at least, or just buy it and enjoy it until they're ready to move on. In my case, I was walking through the parking lot of the local Home Depot when I saw one. I spoke with the owner for a minute, decided right there that I "needed" a Raptor. The plan would be to keep it but you never know. The Raptor wasn't even on my radar.
