I currently have a 3500 denali duramax with a 3 inch lift and 33" tires. I used to tow a heavy camper a lot which was the reason for buying this truck. Since then I have sold the camper and the only towing I do is pulling my boat to the lake and from the lake. It weighs about 7k pounds which I am sure the Raptor will tow just fine. I started looking at the Raptor because, while my truck rides ok it is a bit stiff to drive daily on our pothole ridden roads in PA. I drove the Raptor and it is smooth as silk on crappy roads. I guess my real hesitation is that I put a lot of miles on my vehicle commuting. Does anyone have any regrets about using their Raptor as a daily driver?

In the same battle as you driving a Super Duty myself.

Suggestion: Buy the Raptor as far below MSRP as you can get. Getting to invoice pricing might be easier than you think.

Went from 2.5” lifted 2015 6.2 Sierra cc on 33”s to ‘18 raptor & honestly is a breath of fresh air after 3 GM trucks.

The raptor is not a HD truck- it will not tow anything nearly as well nor will it take a payload anywhere close to what your truck could, that being said I feel like mechanically it sorta bridges the gap between a grocery getting 1/2 ton & a true working HD meaning the A-arms/bushings/bearings/diff/ball joints etc are all beefier. Also has additional frame bracing over a standard F150, while it’s a V6, it’s not just a tuned up version of a standard 3.5 EB- in fact it shares a lot of internal upgrades w/ the Ford GT motor including the forged crank.

All that being said, this is hands down my favorite DD vehicle ever. Checks all the boxes- versatile in any weather/terrain conditions & can carry a ton of stuff, roomy, comfortable, plenty of tech, great looks- I never “looked back” at my previous truck after parking it for instance- has all the practicality of any 1/2 ton but also puts a smile on my face tooling around in it like no other truck has done.

I am either doing short around town errand driving or longer multi-State road trips + some light off-roading up to ski/camping areas. Iceberg got 3600 miles motor still breaking in & averaging 15.6 w/ 93 octane. Don’t baby it- I use the power fairly often, cruise control 72-80mph typically on highway....anything over 77 starts really killing mileage.

It is also the only truck I know of that’s truly AWD when wanted, not like “4 auto” in GM or standard F150 - there’s zero binding or damage driving it in 4A in sport mode to really use the traction/power, I like it in wet conditions a lot too. Has a special transfer case for this function- I think I’ve seen a cool vid/article describing how it works floating around on he webs check it out.

If you don’t need real heavy payload, aren’t towing over 8k lbs, & don’t plow then get the Raptor & don’t look back. Btw- just a tune on these trucks can net +100hp/tq @ the crank.

Lastly - the SCABS have like 2000 lb lower tow rating so you should only be shopping SCREW models

Went from a 2017 F250 Platinum to 2019 Raptor. Only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.... Way more fun as a daily driver vs SD.

Thanks for the responses. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to buy it. My truck now gets about 15 mpg average but diesel is more expensive so it's kind of a wash. I don't need the HD factor anymore and I don't really need a huge bed on the truck. Something I can haul bikes, snowboards and the occasional load of home depot crap. I just wanted to hear from some other people who did what I was thinking to see if there were any negatives I was missing

Is your 3500 deleted or tuned? When you added your big tires, did you change it in the computer tuning? You should not be getting 15... Even in a stock truck.
You might be better off keeping it.

I traded a 2017 lariat power stroke in for my 2019 raptor. Power stroke was stock except for 295/65/20 and I was getting 12-14 mpg. I’m loving the Raptor so far. Best truck I have owned, it’s like riding on a cloud compared to the SD.

I went from a 2017 F-250 PSD Lariat Ultimate leveled with 37 inch Ridge Grapplers to the 2018 Raptor, also leveled with 37s (KM3s). The Raptor is a much better DD, and gets better mileage (16 vs 17) mostly hwy. Parking is much easier, and needless to say it is better off-road - tore up the front air dam on the F-250 off-road, took it off. Oil changes cost about a third of the PSD.
