In the end after trying all possibilities I mounted it per the second picture. My thoughts were, why would they mill out the hole then fill it in with a spacer so #1 was out. Mounting it like #3 seemed like the sensor would not have enough up movement to Zero sensor during calibration, so #2 it was.

lastly and where the shit show really started, getting the wiring through the fire wall. It has been posted in the past that this was the hardest part. Well it is by far. I dare everyone to watch the video from 10:35 to 10:45 and see how simple they make it look. On the engine bay side of the firewall main wiring harness is a rubber "nipple" on the inside is a circle. I am sure Ford made this as a place to pass through wires, but it is not super easy to access, (not horrible but not fun either). 20231211_212220.jpg20231211_212236.jpg

This is about 1/2 inch in diameter and is solid rubber, not hollow like I expected. So slicing all the way through is not easy. But watch the video and see how easy they make the next step look and that is passing wires through the slot you just made. Again remember the hole is 1/2" max.

The smallest connector is 1/2" square, largest is just under an inch (7/8" x 15/16"). How in the hell do you fit a connector that large through and 1/2 hole, oh it is rubber it will stretch, ain't no ephing way. So I give you pictures of connectors before taken apart so that you can reference wire location to help in reassembly. i pushed 4 wires though and then taped more wires about 3-4 at a time to what I had pushed though and pulled those through repeating 3-4 times.20231209_164411.jpg20231209_164649.jpg20231209_165919.jpg

one thing to note on post #94, last picture, that wire is NOT yellow, it is black with a yellow paint dot. That means there are two black wires in that connector. keep them straight. They are ground circuits for the front live valve "solenoids". If they get mixed up I think that you might get weird suspension feeling in the "roll" axis. As the "pitch" axis should be controlled the same front to rear. ( I hope that makes sense, if not say so and I will explain better).

only other thing is the harness has about 18" extra wiring, which of course better to have to much than not enough. That install probably seems a bit ******. Other than the three issues listed, install was smooth.

sure as hell was for me, was not expecting that at all.
Think the time it took me to do everything else equaled my time to get thru that damn thing without destroying it.
