Alright, so I am currently attending Northern Arizona University and have a Raptor. I was wondering if anybody knows of any good open areas near or around Flagstaff to just drive around and have fun. I have been on the forest roads up here a few times but I feel like they are just too restrictive... I do not want to run into anybody or blow dust into somebody's camp.
Also any other places in Arizona that you know of for offroading in a raptor and possibly jumping it, please let me know!:peace:

Cinder Hills OHV Area

Near Flagstaff, is a 13,500 acre OHV area. There is both open riding and miles of single track trails. Dispersed camping is allowed but there are no facilities such as water or restrooms. To get to the Cinder Hills OHV Area, take U.S. 89 north from Flagstaff. Approximately 3/4 mile past milepost 426 turn east on Forest Service Road 776 and follow the signs. More information on the Cinder Hills OHV Area can be obtained by contacting the Coconino National Forest, Peaks Ranger District, 5075 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. Phone (928) 526-0866.
Route: Take U.S. 89 to FR 441 (3 miles north of Flagstaff), go north to OHV area. Take FR 776 (Hardened rd.) for two miles to the first of several parking areas with loading/unloading ramps. The three parking areas are listed on the map.

Conditions: FR 776, and first section of FR 777, are hardened roads. OHVs or 4x4s are recommended on all other roads.

Take a drive south west to California: Glamis; air down to 15psi or less and enjoy the dunes!
Or go a bid further west to the Anza Borrego Desert area and chase down some dry washes (about 25psi) Note: stay away from the ‘squeeze’, a Raptor will not fit through!

The forest roads here can be a lot of fun. There are plenty that are high speed and open. Get maps of Coconino National Forest and Kaibab National Forest from the rangers stations or

Kaibab National Forest - Maps & Publications

Go explore and have fun. Just because it's forest and not desert doesn't mean a Raptor can't stretch it's legs. Mine gets regular workouts in the KNF. Be more careful around deer and elk seasons though, it gets awfully crowded.

I know quite a few good places around Phoenix. Also a good resource is to go to a book store and look for this book, just find the correct region, not sure the NE region is right for you. I have the Southwest one and it's a gold mine for fun places to go.

Arizona Trails Northeast Region - Peter Massey, Jeanne Wilson, Angela Titus - Google Books

PM me if you want info on the PHX trails and i'll give you the spots I can from memory, some of them are stored on my Nav in my truck which is currently on the other side of the world from me. If you're interested when I'm home I'd be happy to show them to you too.

X2! Also around Glamis there are a TON of high speed poleline runs and trails. Some lead to old mines and ghost towns.

I am fortunate/unfortunate to live in the area right now, so if anybody needs any specific ideas or directions just hit me up.
