OEM Raptor Beadlocks cost me more than my first car....

Really, I will sell you mine with tires for $4000. Tires will have less than 1000 miles, just driving back from Denver to Phoenix. Ordered as an option on the truck so they are OEM. pm me if interested.

Well... let me chime in here.

A week ago, $1250 ea for the FACTORY beadlocks was a great deal.

YES, that is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive but like OP stated, they retail for $1750 EACH. Like I said, if you are wanting them, $1250 ea is steal.

Now that the Ford Racing ones are released, they are the EXACT SAME wheel for $699 ea however they INCLUDE both the simulated SVT beadlock ring and the REAL beadlock ring.

The $699 ea price is giving them away IMO.

That being said, I love the way they transformed my truck when I installed them. So MEAN and AGGRESSIVE looking.

Like I posted before - the price deal is just like the price difference on the 2009-2012 black Raptor/FX headlights. They retail at the dealer for MUCH more than you can purchase a pair for as an "accessory" item from Ford. EXACT same headlights.

Same deal with the wheels.

I lucked out and got a great deal on mine and basically offset the cost by selling my new takeoff stock wheels. But that being said, I would have pretty much paid whatever the price was because I thought they looked awesome.

Sorry but $1250.00 is in no way a steal unless you mean Ford is stealing your money! and $699.00 is not giving them away ether that's almost $3500.00 dollars for a set. You could get American made ProAms for that price and would be 10 times the rim or TR Racing Beadlock wheels at almost half that price and you can get those in about any back spacing you like.

He is probably looking at his cost on the wheel itself with the beauty ring.
Get him to check it again, he just screwed up or maybe that's the price with a huge markup.

It's a ring and bolt and nuts for the ring as a kit. Shows $440 Cdn each!

I'm not debating if the wheel is worth $1250 or $1750 EACH because it isn't.

I'm debating the fact that something that retails for $1750 and can be bought for $1250 IS A STEAL. Almost 30% off retail.

For a comparison. MSRP on a 2013 Raptor = $56,000.
Can be bought for $39,200. Same 30% discount.

That my friends is a steal.

Well, tomorrow I will look into returning these wheel,and purchasing the Ford Racing wheels. At a minimum this thread has been an education for any future OEM bead lock wheels purchases. That's what I love about this forum, you get alot of useful information and sometimes colorful feedback!

BTW, I looked into the ProAms bead look before I moved forward with my purchase but the wheels didn't have the look I was going for. I'll never end up using the beadlock for its true intended purpose. Interesting side note, when I told the ProAm represenitive I was concerned about the wheels not being DOT approved he said that lots of the SoCal trucks have the true bead locks for street use and he has only heard of one incident in which the ring failed and separated from the tire/wheel, but that it was due to an improper installation of the ring

I can't speak for pro am or other brands referenced here but I can tell you this:

I am in the professional auto repair industry with a high volume shop. The reliability of OEM wheels vs aftermarket wheels is 100 to 1. I have seen thousands of aftermarket wheels rusr, corrode, peel the finish off, develop a corrosion on the inside and make it impossible to balance with stick on wheel weights. They also are bad about peeling in the center hub hole around the center cap.

I'm OEM all the way. Not a fan of aftermarket parts in general.

But hey, that's just my opinion!!

Any chance you could weight a wheel? I'm trying to decide if I want to keep them on the order I have in or go with the base wheel and upgrade to something else. Thanks...joe

Dude. That parts department is just trying to ream you. I asked on pricing on the stock GT500 wheels that I wanted for my Bullitt at one point at a parts dept at a dealership. They were saying the price was like $1400 a wheel or something. I just laughed. I then spoke with the guy that did all my performance work at my normal dealership and got back pricing that was in line with the Ford Racing site at $650 a wheel or something. Same wheels. Parts depts at dealerships are just marking up like crazy same as they do on all parts. I used to be a service advisor for Ford, and one of the reasons I quit many years ago was seeing the markups on parts from parts dept. 100, 200, 300% markups on things. Was ridiculous.
