I've now driven over 2,400 miles... just did 2,000 from Florida to California. Some things I've noticed:

- the power off the line seems much strong now, like it's opened up

- the exhaust sounds a little deeper and meaner when I get on it in sport mode now

Wonder if it's governed a bit until break in period?

Oh and the technology package is incredible for long trips. Cruise control with vehicle detection and lane change detection is awesome. Never had to put my foot on the gas/break even when people cut you off on cruise control, the detection would automatically break and adjust speed and you have 3 or 4 distance modes you can set between you and the vehicle. And the lane change detection does a good job keeping you in the lines but every now and then will tell you to control the wheel to make sure you're away. haha it's a little annoying when doing 80 around a tighter freeway turn and the wheel kind of fights you... but it's great for long straight stretches. Almost like it's self driving.

My MPG was around 13 when doing 80+ for long stretches... seemed to get up to 14 or so as the trip went on (I reset the trip mode several times to get consistent readings). That seems really low to me... not sure 35s and a bit of lift have that much drain on mileage. If I kept it around 70 though, the mileage got up to 15-16.

Overall the truck was very comfortable at that distance and fun to drive. the Seats are comfortable and there's enough room to kick them all the way back and lay down the front seats for a good nap at rest areas.

So far so good! Love this truck. I'm just glad to finally have her in the desert where she belongs!

Since you changed tire size, did you adjust the computer so that it knows? If not, mpg will be off because it thinks you are still running stock tire size.

Won't be much of a difference at all. Stock is like 34.4.

I think the MPG is being hurt most by the heavier aftermarket wheels.

Nice looking truck though. Welcome to the club. Hopefully you aren't too sensitive because some here may hate on you for doing ADD bumper(s?) and 20" wheels. As long as you like it, thats what matters most. Have fun.

You would be surprised... common misconception that it’s “not much”.
Find the tire size calculator and will be shocked at how little changes have big affects.

Super stoked to own my first Raptor. Kept driving by the dealer and I just had to have it. I don't have the full mod list handy and all that, just know it's the 802a package with some add-ons.

Just had the beast cermic coated with 9h self healing something or other 5 year coating... the detail guys were incredible and super informative. The dealer wash did a number on the paint (UGH!!!) and the polish was able to clean it right up but it was a huge pain I guess.

Anyway, here's some photos. I'm excited to drive her cross country to my west coast home and do some desert baja action!

That's the beast parked next to my supercharged Range Rover Sport.... they make a great pair.

Hope my attachments works and all that.

Oh man I wish my stealth fighter bumper would arrive! Looks great![emoji108]

Yeah? I'll have to see of anyone hs videos. Or if you know of any, would love to hear it. Would be great to get a deeper tone out of the exhaust.

Love the truck. It has already brought small crowds at the gas station and bbq restaurant in Florida. Haha

Thanks! I learned the hard way. I usually buy white or silver vehicles. This time I just had to go black on black. It was shiny in the lot. Then when I bought it, they decided to give it a quick wash and it was getting dark. Looked good to me Next day taking pics realized it was hazy looking and already had swirl marks on pillars and some other areas. They do a horrible job and probably used a damn brush and dirty rags. Why do they do that?!?!?!

Luckily detail shop was able to get it all out and looking great with deep mirror finish. And will be easier for me to take care of. I will be the only one washing this thing from now on.

The detail guy mentioned the 2018 paint is "softer" than previous years ?? Maybe they changed paint procedure for gen2?

Either way, I'm excited. And once I get a layer of desert on her, I won't care as much I suppose.

First tip: Don’t listen to anything MGD says

All the add-ons were done through dealership... I think it looks good with the integrated lights (front/rear).

As far as hate, I stopped caring what anyone else thinks a looonnnng time ago.

Nice looking.....I love black vehicles when someone else has to take care of it.

I swore I'd never do another black vehicle... last dozen or so rides have been white or bright silver. Offroaded the hell out of them like Jeeps and Trucks and white would still look good with a simple rinse.

I got to the dealer and I just didn't like the white with black accents for some reason, and this black on black on black with the add-ons just looked too damn good to pass up.

I went ahead and immediately invested in a 5 year 9h ceramic coating from a great detail shop so it'll at least resist some of the rain, hard water, road grime with a simple rinse. And then I have no rinse solution/wash to maintain it. Should also avoid swirl marks, scratches, and things like the pillars that always looks like hell after a couple washes. After 2,000 miles through rain, snow, road grime, blowing dirty water off semi trucks, etc, she looks really good for a black vehicle. Still had the deep shine and only a bit of haze. The dirty road water was beading up and rolling right off the ceramic, it was awesome.

I noticed the same. Another thing I noticed is the sound of the turbo spool is significantly louder now at 3500 miles than it was when it was new. When I was below 1000 miles I could hardly hear them, which really disappointed me, glad my disappointment was short lived.

I also have a 2016 Ford Escape with the 2.0 EB motor, and the turbo getting louder after break-in was apparent with that vehicle as well.

Yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing this. Wondered if it was my imagination.
