I am very at odds with my new Raptor and its overall quality. It runs and rides great, however the longer i own it and take closer looks at it, it seems the Ford has absolutely minimal quality control on cosmetics, etc. I can list many things, however my main thoughts are if others notice and feel the same way overall?

Not I

Edit: ok, factory spray-in could of been better but blame that on a bozo factory worker.

I have had my Raptor since January 2nd and all I can say is every thing is above average. When I read about the incomplete coverage from the factory bed spray or problems with the trailer hitch being to close to the bed and causing rust, it's not a problem with my truck. Fit and finish is superior to that of my old 2007 F-150. I can't complain...

Quality Control....

i have had the opportunity to own a Raptor for the past three years. In that time, here is what I have found....
I have a Scab, and every time I go off road, there is a serious rattle in the passenger side door that drives me nuts!!!! Yes, I know there are threads about this, but, they have not worked for me...
second, the underside of every door seems as it was just primered, and not painted, I've been extra careful to make sure that area gets extra attention when cleaning.......No Joke, that is all I have been able to find....getting near 30,000 miles and I'm trying to be nit picky... everything else has been great, my wife sold her 2008 BMW X5 and got an Explorer Sport..... Ford is doing something right, this truck has been absolutely awesome, and I'm glad I got one!!!!

I have a '10, and it seems fine. No, it's not perfect by any means, but it also didn't cost a perfect amount of money. Every manufacturer has to draw the line somewhere.

Just to add, I have had several Chevy trucks and they seemed superior at several levels, both in cosmetics and performance. I love my Raptor and my 2012, however i truly feel Ford is sloppy, just as the above member stated! As my mechanic said when doing my Mid perch yesterday, the robot had a bad day, LOL!

The only imperfection I had was a small paint glob near the fender flare on the driver side fender. I put glassworks on now so no more problem. Other thing I have is my passenger side rear door lock mechanism just started giving me problems at 25k miles. Probably a lingering issue from TRR more than anything.

According to the dealer, I sacked out my drivers side leaf spring in 20K miles. The drivers rear is sagging again, so I think it's the shock that's weak/blown. I told the dealer to check it when they replaced the leaf spring and they said they did, but I don't think they actually did. It's been 2 months and less than 5k miles and it's sagging again. Doubt it's a bent frame as my fender to middle of wheel measures the same as a stock Raptor on the passenger side, but I'll see what the dealer says next time.

If anything, the quality has been average or above average, but the dealership experience has been sub-par and I feel like I have a decent dealer that turns a blind eye to most mods.

I'm damn picking. I drove new BMW 7 series cars for 14 years before the Raptor. 4 Different new BMWs. Moving to a Ford made me very nervous. I have to say that overall the build quality has really surprised me. I have two small issues and I have not yet taken it to the dealer to address them.
1) the lid for the drivers side visor mirror is warped and sometimes the light comes on when with the lid closed and the visor up.
2) my power mirror memory is jacked. About every 5 or 6 times I drive the mirrors move to a different setting. Always the same different setting.

I bought a Ford Taurus SHO new in 1993 and the quality was shit and dealer service was shit. Service on the BMWs was fantastic. I haven't taken the truck in yet because I half expect it to come back with more issues than it went in with. That's what happened every time I took the SHO in for service. I think my mirror memory problem is the control box under the console and it's $135 to buy online. I will likely just buy and fix myself.

lol - that's my only complaint on my '12 scab. stupid vanity mirror spring isn't tough enough so the flap opens. figured it was just too girly of a complaint to take into Ford with, so I'll wait until I need something a bit more manly...
