How is noise between the two? The new version of that tire has my attention....
The Firestone MT2's are pretty quiet for a Mud Tire. At at 0 to 5 mph they vibrate a little from the lugs, no vibration after that. At highway speed they are quiet, maybe just a hair more hum than the BFG's. Nothing that bothers me. Flooring it is much louder than the tires (stock exhaust). The MT2's are quieter than their 1st gen MT's. No impact to listening to stereo or talking.
These tires are very sticky AND last forever. I had 1st gen Destination MT's on a Chevy 98 S10 ZR2 that lasted 80,000 miles - size 31 x10.5 x R15. Still had 3/32's tread left when the truck died at 180k miles.
I will NEVER buy BFG tires! The S10's original KO's right rear tread peeled off like a retread at freeway speed while my son was driving on H3. The tread wrapped itself around the tail pipe and ripped it off. The tire carcass was still holding 36 lbs air, no leak! Luckily my son maintained control and it was not a front tire! BFG said it was because the tire was 6 years old and would NOT warranty even prorated! The original TA's on my 04 GTO also had 1 tire with tread seperation and another where steel belt wires were sticking out of the inner sidewall! CRAP quality.
Firestone will give you a package deal if you open their credit card 10% off. I got 5 tires, lifetime balance, mounting, road hazard, tread lifetime warranty & lifetime rotation for less than $1,800. They even thru in a TPMS sensor for the spare for free. Their 35×12.5×R17 Load Range E size fits perfectly on the stock rims with no lift needed NO rubbing. The spare still fits under the truck too without touching the exhaust pipes and clears the Differential by 3". Hard to get that size, local Firestone had to get them from 3 other shops locally. Tire Rack sells them too. Less expensive at Firestone. These MT 2's are the #1 rated Mud Tire on Tire Rack. And yes they are that good!
Bridgestone and Firestone are the same company. Very good quality.
