Yesterday I installed front and rear Alcon brakes. I had the calipers painted Leadfoot to match the truck. Replaced the front and rear center brake lines with stainless steal. Went with +4" on the rear lines to accommodate the bypass rack and shocks once they get here. Also installed the SDHQ vacuum and ABS gaurds while I was already there.

The truck ended up needing the tie rods.

Install was pretty straight forward. On the rear, you have to trim the backing plate to allow room for the calipers. So I trimmed from the current caliper opening straight and the return flange near the bracket. Needed to trim the rear brake line index tab as it will not allow you to bolt up to the rear Alcons.

I ran into a major problem during wheel fitment testing. The Method 305s do not have enough clearance for the bigger calipers even with Alcon's 7mm spacer.

I found 1.5" spacers local that I was about to at least get the truck rolling again. This is no means a long term fix. Just until I can sorce wheels that will fit the front calipers.

Pushing the 37s out another 1.5" makes them plow (giggity) into the fender flares.

So removed the fender flares until I can get the right wheel set up.

To be continued....
