The problem is the guy is out of town and I'm not sure if I can take it to a ford dealership on the spot to get it checked over ya know? Any idea of where I can go same day to get it checked over?

ok wilson let me explain.......

since the raptor was designed for offroad use, you never know what the previous owner did with it. just like a motorcycle, you never know how the previous rider was on it. in a vehicle however you have 4 wheels and a rollcage. on a bike if shit goes wrong youre screwed. but if i knowingly lie to you and say that i never offroaded the truck and you bought it, wouldnt you be pissed if there were problems with it? and with no warranty(or little warranty in this case) you are going to be in a world of hurt if you start paying to fix everything when it expires. maybe a small stress in the frame becomes a problem 2000 miles after the warranty expires or the piston rings are damaged, stuff like that. with that many miles, i would stay away

once again any vehicle imo a trike has 3 wheels. ya be cautious with any thing.

Is there a way to check info other than buying a car fax? He said its been checked through them and passed everything... It has been off road but he stated the pictures provided in the link was the only damage mainly small scuffs/scratch marks

That's a good price! I had a 5.4 in mine and it was a wonderful motor. 6.2 does have a little more get-up but nothing too noticeable.

There are a few things you want to look at.
1) skid plates. Make sure they aren't too beat up
2) The back of the cab where it meets the bed. The frame tends to flex when driven hard and the bed will dent the cab.
3) Check the shocks to make sure they are not blown. Extended warranty will not cover the shocks ($1200 for the pair) and I have seen a bunch blown before 50,000 miles. The rear isn't really noticeable unless you pull the shocks off.

Most everything else should be covered under the extended warranty and I think the deductible is $100.00. IF it isn't covered call Jarrett at RPG and he can get you something better than stock :peace:
