Hey does anyone have a box that is covered in carpet? Rylee44 has his in carpet and mine is just painted black on the plastic like in the above picture. Any questions to why this would be?

So I have to admit that I did some professional plagiarism. I copied the exact setup in this forum. All I can say is WOW. I have never been so pissed about paying for an option than I have with the Sony audio upgrade. The nav system is cool but the speakers and subwoofer are so sub par everyone that has paid for this option should be reimbursed for the money they paid out.

The install was shit simple. Once I had figured out how the first door panel comes off, all the others were off with in minutes. The speaker were plug and play with the adapters that Crutchfield supplied.

The sub was a bit more labor intensive not because of the power wires but fishing the remote gain control knob to the side of the driver's seat. I ran mine under the carpet to the side of my console.

festusrocks2001, I tried to remove the factory clips on the sub like you had mention but I screwed it all up and broke one half. I just used but connectors and tucked them under the carpet.

Sound-
The sound is amazing. The highs are clear and crisp and the mids have a bit of a punch to it. With the focals and the stock system powering them it is amazing how much clearer everything is. Awesome setup for the price.

I freaked out at first when I first installed the sub. I was so excited to hear the system I forgot to adjust the levels on the side of the sub. When I turned it on everything on the sub was turned down, I thought this is the biggest P.O.S., that I had wasted my money on a sub that wasn't even as good as the stock one. I went back to look at it and sulk when I realized I forgot to adjust it. Once I got it dialed in correctly, the thing is sharp and hits hard. I can have it shake the truck or just provided a punch with the adjustment of the remote that is wired to the side of my seat.

Easy install and economically reasonable. I have in total about $1200 in the upgrade.....well worth the money.

I went with the same setup as well.Definite big improvement but it still lacks some punch. Best way to describe it is I can hear the base drum but not the tom tom. Needs mid range and just below punch. I have played with the crossover and the factory tone and fade settings.

Any ideas.

I bought the ll loaded thunderform from crutchfield specifically for my screw. Problem is that it only has RCA inputs, not high level speaker inputs like you guys have. I have not installed it yet, but our factory subdoes mot have rcas correct?

Look at birdmans system upgrade and it will tell u how to splice into the factory sub harness to get signal to ur sub. Also if u have the factor sub u will not need to hook up ur remote wire to let the amp know when to kick on and off. The MTX can figure that out from signal coming from the RCAs u get off the factory sub connection.
