I just traded in my Tuxedo Black 2012 Expedition 4x4 Limited for a Tuxedo Black 2014 Raptor Screw. The Expedition was nice but it’s so common a vehicle now that I felt it was time for a change. Unfortunately the Ford dealer had to mark the prices up quite a bit on their entire Raptor inventory. But I still wanted one because it’s unique and appealed to all my definitions of what makes for a bad ass vehicle. High ride height/lifted look, smooth ride with great safety features and ratings, wider track for handling, great suspension, nice wheels and big tires, lots of v8 horsepower, sweet exhaust note, options and mods galore, can haul enough for my needs, and will run over anything in the way. The thing is I’m not a typical truck guy because most of the stock trucks out there all look the same: small tires and boring! If I got a truck it would have to look different without being “notorious” like the Hummer H2. My answer was to get the Raptor. Mine has just about every available option except for the hood graphics and bed extender.
As for the power, the stock 411 HP is all I really need. I picked the Tuxedo Black because it’s more low profile than the other colors with the exception of the Ingot silver - I would’ve considered it if they had that color in stock. I’m still not sure if I like the large Raptor and SVT graphic on the back that comes standard on the SE models. It’s blended in and subtle but I wish they put it on a little smaller. I’m still considering removing it.
