Most states have a 3-4 day grace period on vehicle purchases that allow the owner to back out with very little or no penalty. Just wow on this one.
This is true. I bought my wife a Nissan Murano and she decided the night that I brought it home that she wanted the Platinum edition. I called the dealer and was told I could return the car without any issues within a 72 hour window. As it turns out, they had the desired model on the lot, so I ended up doing a vehicle exchange, but doing such was not necessary.

If the truck is in the shop 30 days for this, you will be entitled to a buyback or new replacement truck. I would contact Ford and tell them you want a new replacement vehicle. I suspect they will agree on this one.

Hi everyone, I am not located in the states. I am from Canada and unfortunately there is no lemon laws here.
I do have a good relationship with the dealer and they were inclined to fix and give me the same truck but I told them I am not willing to do that.

There is oil in the truck and was when I was driving it.

I am assuming the oil pump failed and the engine seized because of it.

I will keep you all posted on my experience, but by the looks of it I may be getting a new replacement truck. I do not want that truck back, don't want "ENGINE REPLACEMENT" on my service record for a brand new truck which I paid a lot of money for.

Completely unacceptable for a new truck.. But dealer has been nice and understanding thus far.

First, no one checks the oil and fluid levels on a brand new car. That’s what the manufacturer warranty is for.

Second, while what happened to OP is unfortunate, it’s not unheard of. In fact, that’s why we have lemon laws.

Of the millions of vehicles made each year, there are bound to be a few lemons. It’s an inconvenience, but remember that lemon laws are very powerful and heavily favor the consumer over the car maker.

I am pretty sure this will get resolved in your favor.

Good friend bought a caddy New 6miles and with only 17 miles on way home from dealer caught fire and burned to the ground
Things happen total bummer

I know in AZ there is a Lemmon Law 3 day window to call off the deal. Dealerships don't necessarily like to do that but In this case I would demand it.

It is likely that Dearborn didn't put enough oil in it or the oil pump failed. These trucks are driven out of the factory and typically loaded on trains for delivery to a transfer yard and then transported or driven to the dealership. So I'd say this one is on Ford. For 80K I think I'd demand a new one.

My 2018 was driven 26 miles from the rail delivery yard to a small dealership in SC. Dealer prep is typically washing it, checking tire pressure, functions of switches and lights, removing plastic disk brake protectors and checking oil pressure/level (so they should have caught it). I watched them prep my truck as I got there at the same time the vehicle did, once it was done we did a walk thru of all features and functions.
