The plan is for aluminum, but steel could be an option. Anyone have an opinion?

Good to know. At the proper thickness, Aluminum will be more than strong enough and much lighter than a steel version.

Here is where we will hit a problem with the brushed option, there will not be much grip. That is why we are using the tough podwercoat on there, to make sure your foot does not slip.

Thoughts?

good point. maybe we could find out what the others with dead pedals think and what kind of Finnish they have. i think wicked's dead pedals came in black and raw aluminum.
