I ordered the Ford Performance Sport with CF tips. I spent alot of time on the phone with Borla, and Ford today. This is a bit of an education for me. I was not aware that Ford designed the system, and Borla just builds it. This is why the difference in sounds, and components. When Borla finally comes out with there own full system including tips, the price will increase 400-800 dollars depending on what style you choose. This is what I was told by Borla. I found pricing for this Ford Performance System under 1600.00
After all is said and done, I feel comfortable with the Sport Ford Performance System I ordered. The system is being built now, and expected to ship 5/15. Now lets see if all of this holds true. Hope this info helps anybody interested.

I have been in contact with Borla as well.

"The Ford Racing version of this system is closer to what we would normally classify as a Touring system which just means it is quieter. While the system is not as loud as the Borla branded S-type or ATAK overall, they all become very quiet at cruising speed without any resonance. The Ford Racing by Borla system is still a great option, it is just the least aggressive of the three upgrades.

Since our systems are straight through you can expect the same performance gain across the board, despite the addition of the resonator the Ford Racing by Borla exhaust will offer the same 12 HP upgrade."

That's direct from Borla

Thanks Guy. We will see how it sounds. I do not want anything too loud for me. Its funny, when I ask the Borla people directly how loud there systems are compared to the Ford Racing system, they become very vague. They will talk in "pitch" difference, but not how much more, or less loud. They couldn't give me the DB levels of the Ford Racing System either.

Installed the Borla S-Type...I'm very happy with the sound at start up and during acceleration. What are most people doing with their OEM mid and x pipe sections, keeping them or selling them? Will they fit a standard 2.7 or 3.5 ecoboost?

good question - are the standard 3.5 dual output? I thought they were single back then split into two?

Not an xpipe, a resonator. Either way I'm just hanging on to them to reinstall when I trade it back. You should get the SPD as well. Makes a nice difference.

SPD? is that a downpipe? I don't see it listed for the Borla system.
ON EDIT: went a couple threads down and figured it out. I'm new to the EcoBoost world. HAHA. Did you keep the factory downpipe?
