New 2022 Fox live valve shock issue?

Where was it stored, half submerged in a creek? WTF?

So i had a shock replaced because it was leaking from the lower shaft seal. I noticed that the new shock had this residue after getting the shock a little dirty. I cleaned it and hasnt appeared since. So while the truck is used, It may have a replacement shock like mine and could be manufacturing residue as @FordTechOne mentioned.

Thanks for confirming FordTechOne’s reply. I’m hoping this is the case, my stomach is in nots right now worrying about it.

I think it made it to the titanic and back, no issues except the shock apparently.

OK. So its a new truck thats just been setting. Yeah, That shock is more than likely assembly lube. If not, Have it replaced under warranty.

Clean that with a "soft degreaser" and all should be ok

Sorry, I just googled the shocks, I can’t find the exact ones but fox live valve 3.0 are $3500-$5200USD a pair, I’m guessing they’ll be the more expensive ones of course. So say worst case, $5200usd is $6900cad + tax in Ontario is $7800cad, with shipping that’s gotta be at least $4k each.
Has anyone found better pricing on them?

First of all they are made to be rebuilt vs. replaced... so look for options in your area for experienced people to service them. However, yours are probably fine for now.

You’re absolutely right with the rebuild vs buy new, the warranty salesman got in my head. I appreciate the correction.
