I have an OTC Racing Jack with a homemade skid plate and mount. The damn thing died on me last weekend and I need a new jack.

Anyone have a list of vendors that make the skid plate/mount (or recommend one you purchased)? I know Outlaw has them, but I will not buy the Sears Craftsman jack - it is garbage. Thinking of another OTC 2-ton or Harbor Freight 3-ton.

Thanks!

$375 :rotflmao:

KHC has a nice one for $175, or c4fabworks.com for their $150 mount

the Harbor Freight 2 ton race jack is baller because it gives you 18.5" of lift and its sort of light weight and reliable

I believe that is more lift than the HF 3 ton but I have no idea and I'm too lazy to go ahead and double check that for you right now

Anyone ever thought about a bottle jack or is that just silly?

I keep the one out of my Chevy and use it to change the tires on the raptor in the driveway. I use a 4x6 block under it to get the hight I need. It actually works well for not having a typical floor jack.

To the OP. I second the HF 2 ton and KHC or fab4 mount and skid.

What happened when the jack failed? I hope you caught it during an inspection and not while in use.

GREAT LAKES RAPTOR EXCURSIONS

Thanks guys! The jack raises up and starts to put pressure on the truck, but it can't lift the truck. It also doesn't lower itself to the floor. I have to put my foot on it and press it down. I've used it many times before with no issues.

The HF 2-ton says 19.5" lift. My OTC was 18". C4fab makes a nice 6" lift for the HF jacks.

Perhaps the hydraulic fluid is low or needs changed?
Barsleak makes a hydraulic jack oil conditioner / leak sealant that may help. I got two bottles from the many GLRE events I've been to. I think everyone has one that goes. Maybe someone close to you can get you a bottle, lol...

I ordered the HF 2-ton jack, the C4Fab 6" lift extension, their skid plate and jack mount. Hoping it arrives in time for TRR. They have no phone number and they didn't answer my email. I did get an order confirmation at least.

If I can fix my OTC jack, I'll keep it in my garage.
