8000 pound towing capacity on a supercrew with max 800 pounds tongue weight and that's if the driver only weighs 80 pounds. The more weight in the truck such as gear and passengers further reduces the tongue weight by that amount. Ford takes in to account breaks, axles, frame, transmission, engine etc. when determining towing capacity. You cant just change springs and figure ok I am good..

Yea going up the hill she tacks up pretty good down to 4th. Is it hard on the tranny and engine to run it that hard? My 6.7 super duty goes up the hill without downshifting at all.

Im not concerned about going over 8000…Im mainly concerned about going over tongue weight and also possibly bending the rear frame.

Well no of course not icecobra haha I was referring to the sagging issue he's worried about. I wouldn't never tell anyone that springs and longer bumps will increase the towing capacity that's just newb status there come on now haha..

It will depend on how close you are to the bump-stops with whatever the tongue weight of that trailer is. If you are close and take a big bump with a lot of tongue weight, that is where you will get into trouble.

For what it sounds like he tows, if it were me I would go raptor and be mindful of what you're hauling. He said 90% not towing. That means 90% more fun if you have a Raptor!

That's true txfight00. I guess on the tractors, I will keep them over the axels best I can.
Just sucks to not have a diesel. I shiver at the thought of not having one. A raptor is so sweet though. Miss mine heavily.
