If you use your truck to haul toys like dirt bikes and atvs a tonneau is useless, they roll up but still cover the front 8" of the bed which mine needs or you can get a crappy or ugly one which is a waste.

I used to have a dura max with an extang soft "full tilt", it was a 30 second one piece removal and it was useful but junk at the same time. If planned I could pop it off with no tools or if caught up it would roll but never re snap. For this truck I opted to have the bed open since I don't keep anything back there anyway. If you really want me and don't mind a soft one check it out. It does not leak, it was my work truck, I live in eastern Canada and never had it let water or snow in but it was fugly.

I had an extang on my '01 Super Duty. Was a POS from day 1. Got a Downey SST for my '03 F 150 and I loved that cover. Easy off easy on all the time. Even in the winter during snowmobiling season. The SST is the cover I will be getting when and if my Raptor shows up

Bak Fiber Max is holding up well after a couple of off-road treks.
No complaints here. No adjustments on this Bad Boy!

I went and looked at the retractables again today. I am still confused. They each have features I like and don't like.

Still deciding between the RETRAXPRO, the TRUCK COVER USA , and the ROLL X HD.

Retraxpro - cant stand the gloss black, no strap, nice handle, nice quality
Truck cover usa - don't like the spring loaded, strap, But I like that its a matte black
Roll X HD - don't like the Vynl over the aluminum

I have the roll-x and it's not really holding up well. Maybe the Bak F1. Morrie at Bak factory outlet is a good resource -although I'm still waiting to hear back from him.

I don't know, what do you want out of a bed cover?
To vague of a question when there are too many variables.
