My vote is NOT for the Extang Solid Fold

Solid Fold

The front portion that stays closed covers more than 1/3 of the bed. In order to access that front third you have to completely remove the cover. Huge pain when you need gear from the front!!!

Best bed cover??

I don't know, what do you want out of a bed cover?
To vague of a question when there are too many variables.

For the most part, I need one that is pretty durable with the winters of MN & isn't too hard to fold up

Bak Roll-X; Morrie at the BakFactory Outlet.com

:favorites13:GavsterMurf11,
I have the Bak Roll-X, and no problems thus far. It is pretty weather tight , quiet, and stood up to 400 high speed miles in the recent Dirty Dozen Maine trip. The Roll-X opens easily and rolls back with little effort. Best of all when it is locked and the tailgate is locked things are very secure.
I HIGHLY recommend Morrie at the Bak Factory Outlet. Many others have verified how he will go way over the expected norm with backing up the BAK products. He was a pleasure to deal with and I hope that I never need to bother him. It's a comfort to know he's there if a problem should occur.

Had my Roll-x about a year and it is holding up very well. I wouldn't be happy with one the folding ones as you can see jack out the back with it up.

How come nobody ever talks about the other FRF vendor, Fold-a-Cover?
The OP stated he wanted a folding one.

Morrie was indeed good to work with and offered a great deal but for me he lacks on follow-up and the Roll-X has security concerns and is not the best cover for off-roading. Give me a screwdriver and I will be in your Roll-X in seconds. I've done quite a bit to make it off-road capable and secure, so far I would say it is functional now.

I am not loving my Rollx as much as my old FiberMax. Morrie is great, but the Rollx is annoying (The instructions do not match the product) and it is not nearly as solid feeling nor does it feel as secure as my old FiberMax. If I had to do it again, I would have went with the FiberMax again. It is annoying when you have it all the way up and can't see out your rearview, but that is a small price to pay.

I like the Retrax Pro. Don't have to deal with folding it and on the pro version I can stand on it and it won't bend. Don't know how rolling it up when it's frozen works but it works great and is easy to do when the weather isn't dumb.

extang solid fold... have had it on my F250 for a year now and have no complaints..none. yes a third stays covered, but for me to get things that far in the bed, i have to get up on the tailgate and in the bed anyway and the cover isn't that deep to make it a problem.

Mine survived the crazy winter we had last year and kept my gear, guns and stuff totally dry and protected.

I like it a lot.
