I don't know if mine has ever done that. The only time I let it run more than 5 seconds is if I remote start it. Usually its turn the key, Stuff it in gear, flip out the mirrors and go. HAhahaa. Good luck. Keep us in the loop.

BDRAG

I immediately thought of you Bdrag when I turned right and it died... Lol

Everything is back to stock and yet it continues... So I can rule out several things..

1) not bad gas.. I have ran a tank if gas through it and no change

2) removed tune, actually got worse

3) removed afe stage 2 cai, no change except you really can hear a loud ticking..

Have put 100+ miles on since removing the tune, several run cycles, and varied drive cycles. Still the stumbling, backfiring, and dying persists. After Brandi mentioned smelling antifreeze there is a little loss but still in range. Oil is dark for only 500 or so miles.

Ok, I know this has zero chance of being related, but I'll be damned if that doesn't sound and look like what happens when the anti theft feature doesn't detect an RFID'd key/the right code from the key and kicks in to kill the engine (by killing the fuel pump).

You know I thought the same thing. The last video I switched out my key with my wife's key. No change..

Good idea, but the way its behaving would make me suspect the detection module in the truck, not the key.

Dunno Greg. I can guess, but that's all it would be. Like I said I doubt its related. But its weird how similar what's going on in your video looks to the when the anti theft stuff activates.

Hey by the way do you have a code reader Greg? Something you can pull from when this happens again right at that time?

If you had a coolant leak. It could be showing up after the truck cools off. The pressure is in the system after you drive it. So when the truck sits, the pressure bleeds off may be getting into a cylinder. So when you start, the cylinder affected is wet and misfires till it clears out. Hence the smell of coolant. Maybe head gasket, or intake if these intakes have a coolant passage,I don't know if they do. Cold weather could also affect the expansion and contraction of the parts. Just speculating. Jack

Huh. Ok...

Got an android device or iPhone? If you want to try it, I'm more than happy to send you my bluetooth OBDII code reader. You'll need an app (android or iPhone) to use it though. But the info you might glean from it will probably be really interesting.
