My tailgate was stolen!

SO I WOKE UP THIS MORNING, GET INTO MY TRUCK AND HEAD TO THE GYM. I ALWAYS PARK MY TRUCK FACING FORWARD SO WHEN I SHIFTED TO REVERSE I NOTICED MY SCREEN WAS ALL BLACK, I THOUGHT "WTF, THE TAILGATE MUST BE DOWN OR THERE SOMETHING ******** WITH THE CAMERA. SO I FINISH PARKING, GET OFF AND AS I WALK BEHING MY TRUCK I SEE THAT THE TAILGATE WAS REMOVED. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ***********!!!" AFTER THAT I PARKED BACK INFRONT OF MY HOUSE, CALLED THE COPS, THEY DID THE REPORT, I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY (GEICKO), I WILL PAY A $500 DEDUCTIBLE FOR IT. I JUST GOT BACK FROM FORD TO HAVE AN INVOICE MADE TO SHOW THE ADJUSTER HOW MUCH $$$ I SHOULD GET FOR THE TAILGATE. TURNS OUT IT COSTS $4,400.94. DAMN, NO WONDER THAT ************ TOOK MY SHIT. OH WELL, I WILL BE DRIVING AROUND FOR ATLEAST A WEEK WITHOUT A TAILGATE. ******* HATERZ

Sorry to hear that bro ill keep an i out for it its bound to turn up your gate stuck out so ill spread the word... That shit gets me so mad im pissed off and it didn't happen to me !! Steal from one of us is like stealing from all of us is the way i feel lets break some heads!!!!

Sorry to hear that shit happened. People around here cant ******* work for their own shit, its really pathetic and sad that they have to go and take someone else hard earned property. I just locked mine and im definitely gonna invest into a vehicle alarm and adjust the sensitivity to the highest!

Ill keep an eye and ear out for this, most likely they stole it to use it because A) their old one was damaged or B) they didnt have one at all.
The price on that is ridiculous but im going to assume they are adding labor as well, which dealer did you go to?

You can add pop n lock to the tailgate like i did.. That way when your doors are lock the tailgate is locked also. Nice piece of mind, along with jimmy jammers tailgate lock.

you can also use magnetic reed switches along with a lock. that way if the switches seperate your alarm will go off

Or sleep in the bed of your truck with a double barrel shotgun, first chamber rock salt and second one dimes !

We've had a series of break-ins here the past couple weeks. Thanks to neighbors who look out for each other we caught the filthy vermin yesterday. They took a lot of guns (some very sentimental) from some close friends. Hoping they can be recovered.

That REALLY SUX. May be a blessing in disguise. One of the first mods I got was a $10 teailgate lock and I am feeling pretty good about that mod right now. Good luck amigo - would be great if the rear camera could record huh?

is this the kit you used and how hard was it to install?

It is the popandlock pl8250.. So that one is the correct one.

Installation is not bad, using a fish tape to run the harness up the passenger side frame to rear passenger door. Took maybe 30 minutes or so.
