That’s exactly what we need a hybrid Raptor lmao I don’t know how I would feel being in the middle of nowhere in a hybrid vehicle no thanks. Even less reliable imo.

There are all kind of articles (rumors) saying that there will be a v8 option in the raptor sometime in 2020/2021...dealers nationwide are literally giving away the trucks right now and it’s late 2019... I don’t think that’s a coincidence. I mean my dealer is offering 2k under MSRP online with zero negotiating. I think Ford realizes that once the V8 drops No one will be buying the V6 and that the value will plummet.
Hence the nationwide give away. It’s completely different from when I bought my Gen 1, people were fighting to get the truck at MSRP.
When I looked at my 2014 that I ordered in Late 2013 dealerships had them marked 5 to 10,000 over MSRP and people were paying it.
I think the 5.2 will be an option like in 2010. That's how it went with the 5.4 and 6.2...started that the 5.4 was the base..and the 6.2 was a more expensive option...that only lasted one year. Then the 6.2 was standard...my guess...no one bought the 5.4 and ford realized they would loose money.
If history repeats its self...the 5.2 will be a more expensive option for a year maybe two while ford tests the water...no one and or very few people will buy the 3.5 and ford will ditch it like the 5.4
If they try to make the 5.2 a 80-90k maybe even 100k fully loaded with markup the truck won't sell. Then they'll have to do away with it..doing that will remind people how awesome a v8 would be in the raptor.
People will be left feeling like they are settling for a v6 that they really don't want. I feel that way now and the v8 isn't even official yet.
Why do I say all of this? I’m considering buying a 2019 and or ordering a 2020. My gut tells me to wait Incase the 5.2 becomes official.
With all the talk about Ford having to keep up with the new Rebel TRX with the HellCat engine coming in 2020 the 5.2 will become a reality. So do I buy a 19 at a steal or wait and pay full price for the 5.2.
What are your thoughts.
No I am not a V8 troll, just a guy who sold his 2014 raptor for a 2017 S6 and miss having a truck and considering another Raptor.

It will not be 6 figures. Look at gt500. Expect similar prices. Usually manufacturers force choices on customers when they are in loss or have a lot of parts old inventory piling up that sells less. which is the ecoboost, m sure that inventory is about to end now that a lot of my fellows here have forcefully bought the raptors with 3.5 ebs and on top they defend it like its the end of world ...lolI'm in the same boat. I'd prefer the V8 and I'm willing to wait til 2021's are out but I wouldn't want to pay 6 figures for it just bc. So I'm thinking of getting a V6.
On that good and bad, can someone tell me how much this 3.5 cost to ford?
and how much the old 6.2 cost. I have a hunch that the difference is around 5 to 8 grand, but cannot confirm it.

ford actually played a clever game. now that the loving v8 been missing for 5 years, people are hungry for it, and all my defender fellows here will immediately upgrade to v8 version regardless of loosing money, and the ones who hve been waiting so all in all tons of customers for the new release. People will forget 3.5 eb ever existed. despite a little group somewhere here in the corner who either cant afford to upgrade or are insistent on getting full worth of their money spend on eb. so in the end, its ford who will be smiling looking at their profits selling more cheap bad junk than good junk. Maybe one of you have some idea or someone working in fords purchase dept would know the actual cost. I'dd love to hear about it.
Heading into 2018, Ford’s truck marketing manager Todd Eckert tells Automotive News that the 2.7-liter EcoBoost will be the most popular F-150 engine followed by the 3.5-liter EcoBoost. Together, they’ll claim 65 percent of all F-150 sales, leaving 10 percent for the new entry-level 3.3-liter, and roughly 25 percent for the five-point-oh.
Thats y i said iam not sure, but eb is cheaper even with turbos and all the stuff that comes with it. more parts more maintenance. A manufacturers only goal is profit. This is universal rule. everything else comes second. Or it may be the money they put in advertising the eb, thats the only explanation they would force an option on clients. i wonder why gt500 doesnot have 3.5 eco boost (thank GOD though) lolYou are asking what it costs to produce an engine? You are WAY off. Think in terms of hundreds of dollars, not thousands. Ford counts how much a connecting rod costs using cents, not dollars. That is only the cost to produce it though. All the development costs have to be rolled in too.
I'd bet that Ford can produce the 3.5L TT, 6.2L V8 and 5.2 SC GT500 engines for nearly the same cost- definitely all within $1000 of each other.
The 6.2L is no doubt the cheapest- less cams and valves, no blower or turbos. The 3.5 TT is probably a bit cheaper than the 5.2L SC, less pistons, less metal, and they likely get the 2 turbos for less than the cost of the blower.
If I had to guess dollars, a 6.2L long block probably costs Ford around $800 to produce. 3.5L TT I'd put about $1300 and the 5.2L S/C at $1500. Both FI engines would need another couple hundred dollars of parts for the IC systems as well. So I'd guess the true price delta to Ford is right around a grand between the 6.2L and the 3.5L TT / 5.2l SC engine.

Cuz it’s a mustang, basically the ONLY reason ford continues to soldier on w/ their V8 production (that & for the cheapo HD trucks) - & a mustang gets a V8, always has....except now they’ll be offering it in full electric too lol
Here’s devils advocate for ya- They wouldn’t put the cream of the crop HO 3.5 EB in a POS mustang anyhow bro, the halo EB motors get slated for their Halo car- the GT. That’s where they showcase the pinnacle of their performance for a given era
It’ll probably hybrid next go around, as will the Raptor.
I’d buy a Camaro or Challenger if I wanted a V8 muscle car, if Ford decided to put the HO 3.5 EB into the mustang tho? Then I’d be more interested. Tune alone would be more than enough for 90% of people.
The only reason they DONT offer the big boy EB motors in the mustang is b/c they’re doing exactly what you’re accusing them
Of- padding profits on “has been” motors/design that being the coyote V8, if they dropped the raptor motor into the Stang too early they’d cannibalize what’s left of their potential V8 sales
