I have a 21' with B&O sound system and ~8000 miles on the truck.

Today, I was driving 1 mile to my gym and a few seconds after I start driving away from my house the sound system starts to act up and had a popping sound through all speakers. I kept driving for a bit and tried to turn the volume down but even at 1 or with the audio "off" the sound continued and got crazier and louder. I had to pull my car over and get out of the car it was so loud. Super dangerous and definitely unhealthy for your ears. Serious safety issue.

I turned the car off, tried to restart the head unit, etc. but no change so I plugged my ears and went back home. I let the car sit for around an hour and got back in with no sound issue anymore. My ears still hurt several hours later...

Through some research, I found that some other 21' f150s with the B&O are seeing this issue since around March.

Tomorrow I am going to contact my dealer to see what is going on and hopefully get this fixed so it doesn't happen again. Also, concerned my speakers might have or could be damaged from this. Again, it was a super loud and popping sound throughout all speakers. It would be very dangerous for this to happen on the highway.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to record it as I needed to get out and away from the car as quickly as I could. If it happens again, I will record it.

If this happens to you, remove fuse 28 (Amp) and it will stop.

Here is an audio recording of the issue that I got from my dashcam.
WARNING: make sure your volume is low if you take a listen!!

If I heard this audio with no context, I would of assumed you were abducted by Aliens... Its good that you have a dash cam and don't have to verbally describe this to the dealer/ ford. Let us know what the outcome is

Hasn't happened to me but there was a 21 that I looked at at a dealer that had a popping noise coming from the speakers. It was not loud but it was constant. The dealer was embarrassed and promised they would fix it. I passed and waiting for my build. I'm not sure what caused it but it had the upgraded system.

I have heard it might be an issue/bug with the newest update to SYNC. Waiting to hear back from dealer/bringing it in tomorrow.

I agree, I think ALiens were trying to send secret morse code messages back to Mars through his wifi. Seriously though, has to be some glitch in the system. Was your phone bluetooth'd to it at the time? Not that it's an excuse but our phones do cause some issues, but that one seems so odd. Good luck at the dealer.

This same thing happened to me yesterday. It is loud as AF. I can't believe there was not damage done to the speakers. You can't turn it off. Have to turn truck off and get out.
