i've tried both dougs cut out and QTP. i've had better luck with the qtp the dougs broke in like a month although i was told that was my fault because i was operating the valve in wet conditions.
i installed the cutouts where the resonator was straight after the headers.
anyway i have a few videos that might help you out in deciding.
p.s i have 1 3/4 catless kooks headers

I've had mine on for a few years now. Got the cut out from Summit and had issues with the first 3. each time Summit sent me new ones no questions asked. I got very quick at changing them out. took a few apart and saw a lot of carbon and rust build up along the bearings and travel path. I started spraying down the gate and path (in both the open and closed position) with WD40 about every 2 or 3 weeks (takes 30 seconds) Seems to work awesome. Keeps the gate and travel path clean. I spray around the motor also so that may be helping. Another thing i learned was as soon as the tone changes when you open or close the gate, stop! The motors aren't very strong, and don't stop automatically once fully open or closed. The motor continues to run as long as you hold the button. I think this may be causing a lot of the issues you read about with the valve. Once i stared doing all that, it's been great! No rattle and perfect for when I leave for work early in the morning, or if the wife is in the track for long trips. You look under the truck, and everything associated with the valve (valve, Y pipe, and turn down) look brand new because its stainless. The stock pipes are already rusting though. All in all, one or my favorite mods.

Any video clips with a stock engine?

I'm out of town right now but can grab some clips when I get back home.
Have stock engine with Dougs right after resonator, sounds amazing with zero backfires seen in the clips above.
Putting on AFE Stage 2 CAI in a few weeks as well and heard there is a decent increase in exhaust tone so looking forward to hearing the difference.

Made a quick run to Ohio and back Thur-Fri and after about 8 hrs we encountered a Ram truck with some sort of loud exhaust but could not maintain any consistent speed. Feeling annoyed, I decided to open the cut out and make a little noise as I passed him (again). Well, about a minute latter he passes me again gunning his Ram, but this time the younger guy in the back gave us their West Virginia greeting via the third finger. We just laughed at them as they went by for the last time.

Now, after about an hour with the cut out open we decided to close it to enter a rest stop; it didn't close. I figured it was heat soaked and didn't mess with it until we were returning home the next morning. Closed, but I could tell it was not the same. So, here is what it did.
I took the second unused cut out that came in the kit apart and I could see where improvements to the edges could be made. The bad one showed signs of failing right where I suspected. Beveled and polished the edges better and applied some high quality Molykote 321 to both surfaces of the gate as well as the housings. This should take care of any sticking valve issues for good.
