my opinion is you were about to pass the acura on his right, but he moved over and you went to passing gear, or at least some extra throttle to try to stay in front of the neon.. its easy to see the closing rate you had on the next car in line, as the neon jetted thru and you hit the brakes... i think the whole thing would have been avoided if you either fell in behind the acura, or right in front.. let the neon go bro, you arent the authorities...

the fisheyed lens does make it look a little weird but thats my final summation..

Defensive driving should be the strategy here, let the neon pass as soon as safely possible and distance yourself from hazards like that. You could have easily slowed a few times and move right to let him (and the associated danger) pass.

The neon driver clearly never saw the damage caused by a tow ball rear-ending a truck or he would have rethought this out.
