I'd rather let 'em go by so they are the ones who find the cops...

I tend to lift off the gas when someone tailgates me like that and, if possible, drift onto the shoulder a little where all the loose gravel usually is. Eventually I'll get out of their way if they don't back off but I reaaaaaallllllly take my time. I'll hit my signal and take forever to move over, too. I know this makes their miserable life just a smidge worse.
Exactly. Sometimes I have someone on my tail and think, "well, that guys either an A-hoIe or he could be taking his kid to the ER". Rather have him be an A-hoIe than the other. One day I was riding my Ducati to work, 2 lane 35mph signed road in NoVA known for periodic revenuing. I’m doing just under 55 passing some guy when some dork in his peasant car starts tailgating me. As I’m making my way to get to the right lane, a slow mover turns on to the road so another 10 seconds or so to clear him. Now this guy is less than 10 feet from my rear tire. My temperature is rising. I finally clear the slow mover, and move right. The peasant moves past me sharply but he will get caught at the next traffic light and so would I.
Whatever you may be thinking, it did not turn into a clown show. The dude pulled into the hospital ER without delay.
Before you decide to play lane discipline enforcer, keep in mind the person behind you may not be the àsshole you think they are.
