The mustang 5.0 and truck 5.0's are different motors. There was an article on the blue ovals forums that discussed the topic
Yep, cams, tune, exhaust manifolds, and compression ratio are different. Can't remember if the heads were actually different or just the exhaust valves.

5.0 coyote is a bad ass motor. But at the same time so is the 6.2 and the 3.5

As far as which motor is best or whats the best to run in our trucks i say to each there own. Any motor can be set up to your liking is what im trying to say. If i had it my way id go eco-boost for its fuel economy as well as performance (its not too often that you can get both out of one motor). My buddies eco-boost with intake/exhaust/ssi 93 tune ***** n gets. Walks off on me like its nothing. The 5.0 motor would bolt right up to our transmissions, you would just need motor mounts. do the 5.0s come with electronic or hydraulic power steering? I wonder how our transmissions would like the increase in RPMs......mine overheats as it is lol.

Electronic power assisted steering for the 5.0, 3.5 Eco, and 3.7.

I wonder what a raptor with electronic power steering would feel like off-road. I foresee lots of initial over-steer as people realize you barely have to touch the wheel for it to turn.
Yeah, its definitely a different feeling for sure. Sometimes I have a hard time telling how far I have the wheels turned on my 5.0 while playing around, so that results in over correcting some times as well as going past the point of them going back to straight. Basically you have to pay attention to how many times you've turned the wheel. There's not really any feedback from the wheel like I could feel in my old truck where I could get a much better sense of how far the wheels were turned. That's the best way I can up with how to explain it.

Yeah I couldn't agree any more with what u said. I mean it's definitely do-able but I kinda prefer our current steering set up when it comes to off-roading. U got a lil more room for steering corrections/errors and I prefer the feel of it. Like what's gonna happen when your flying through a section off-road and your bouncing around inside your truck whilst you cling to the wheel for dear life. I bet the truck would be a bit twitchy as the wheel gets moved slightly from side to side as your holding on.

Go with a mustang 5.0, power/parts availability. Makes a lot more power on a lot less boost. Aluminum block, can be had pretty cheap.

I would like to see an Ecoboost 5.0 V-8 in my next aluminum body Raptor.

They haven't done a TT V8 yet, and I doubt they will unless it's in the Cobra.

If I HAD to replace my motor and the 6.2L wasn't available, I'd get a 5.0 Coyote motor and put a blower or single turbo on it. Like already said, much more parts availability and support than the 6.2L

Why a single turbo on the coyote and not a double ??
