The single valve JLT system is not adequate for the Gen 2 Raptors...or any turbocharged vehicle for that matter.

Meh - whatever, I was fine not running one before anyhow.....gen 2 Raptors have port injection on top of DI....this alone helps reduce carbon buildup on the valves, the JLT can had about 3 oz of black oil (not frothy stuff like I've seen before) over 8500 miles when I recently drained it, must be doing something. Also like that my dealer said they wouldn't bother me about it when it came to warranty issues, the brands that require you to drill into your intake tract though.....I think Ford is within reason to void warranty

You only got 3oz over 8500 miles cause you're only catching during idle. You aren't catching anything when the turbos are engaged.

I agree it's not "needed" and Ford improved the ecoboost when they went with both direct and port injection but i assume you didn't poor the oil into the gas tank?...why not it's only 3oz. The cans used to be a preventative item for valve coking which I agree is not the case in our engines anymore. The other valid use is to improve fuel octane and long long term engine life by removing as much junk from the intake air as possible.
If you don't care about dirty air why change the air filter? why run one at all? Why care about premium fuel? Why care about top tier fuel? If that stuff matters then a catch can is just another part of that mindset.

As far as warranty. No mod can void the entire warranty only a specific claim for a specific failure. If you drill the hole and get plastic in the turbo and cause a failure sure they will deny it. If you create an intake leak and throw codes sure they will deny it. Other than that you'd be on solid ground. I guess if you never emptied it and clogged up the system and threw codes you'd be on your own as well. All manageable risks and extremely unlikely as the catch can is a very passive mod as far as mods go.

I'm not advocating the use of a catch can I'm only advocating that if you do install one it is shear stupidity to install one that only works at idle and when turbos aren't engaged. It's a boosted engine and a proper 2 stage can is the lowest requirement if you are going to head down that path.
