Looking to upgrade the headlights in my 2012. I like the looks and wide DRL band around the MM but I think the RR are probably better lights.

I hear the MM high beams aren't great any complaints from those that have them? I don't do a lot of night driving and even less where I would need high beams.

What pushed you to go one way or the other on your purchase?

Went with the Morimoto XB's. I like that the housing is blacked out, plus the DRL's look far better, and they are sequential as well. I also didn't wanna hack up a stock pair of black housing HID's that sell for almost what a pair of the XB's cost.

I'm really enjoying the Morimoto XB's. The light output is amazing, and they really help modernize the truck. I also didn't have to hack up a pair of stock HID headlights which are worth decent money still.

Brighter than stock HID? by how much roughly? Still didn't find a local guy to do projector retrofit. Consider morimoto now. But some say they are NOT any brighter than stock HID.

I went with the Morimotos because I could get them quick, plug them in, they look dang sexy, and I could sell my HIDs for good money. They are very bright compared to stock HIDs, bright enough for me.

Watch this video.
. It’ll give you the specs for 2009-2014 f150 lights using OEM HID as baseline. They are a lot brighter. You’ll have to skip past the other headlights he reviews. Numbers are below but I’d watch the video. Speaks better than numbers.
Low beam Morimotos are 194% brighter than OEM HID low beam
High beams are 323% brighter than OEM HID
Top pic is OEM HID
Bottom are Morimoto
