Took some comparison pics. The lights look sweet. As far as noticeable light output, it is superior clarity at distance especially. Look at the objects in the distance in comparison shots. Up close, the stockers almost appear as bright. Width the Morimoto's are better. I'd place the visual appearance of the output (morimoto lows) in between stock lows and stock highs. The morimoto highs do not make any major discernable difference. Both of these could be aiming concerns, however, I am none to eager to get to the screw to adjust the highs down (which is weird considering how much the lows had to be adjusted up). Morimoto's are on the right in the light output image

No. The DRL harness gets power constantly regardless of the headlight position switch.

The DRL harness triggers the startup sequence once power is first applied. It also keeps the amber DRL surround on.

When your trucks headlights are on, the amber DRL is supposed to dim so that it's not as bright.

Remember DRL means Daytime Running Lights. That could mean two things from Ford (I can't test this because I have used FORSCAN to program my own truck to act different).

It COULD mean that your lows are on during the day (Daytime Running Lights).
That's PROBABLY what it means.

The amber surround most likely has nothing in the sync menu you can change, as that's not something ford would really call "DRL" as that's just an amber outline. They may call it an indicator light possibly.

In fact, on the OEM wiring harness they actually refer to this circuit as the "Daytime Running Light" so yeah who knows what actually happens.

You'd have to just test this out. As I said, my truck is programmed 100% different from stock so what I have setup is completely different.

Ok this what I turned off in the menu . It controls the headlight only for daytime headlight only use. Drl harness wiring it up would keep amber surround on in daytime .

Got the "Bugatti Sequence" and DRL line hooked up. Here is what I did - and what works on my truck. Bought Micro 2 adapter from NAPA, bought 7.5A micro 2 fuse, put in top slot (to lights).

Fuse 14 on the Raptor is a spare 15A, always powered slot (doesnt require ignition, same as headlight power). Pulled the spare 15A fuse and placed in bottom of Micro 2 adapter. Plugged adapter in.

Lights cycle bugatti sequence on ignition only. DRL's are "always on" as intended, even if I disable in dash options. I have the forscan hack on, so if I run with DRL's enabled, it looks exactly as it did prior to the add a fuse wiring.

You mean fuse 14 is only powered when truck is on right? Otherwise it would never turn off :)

Wonder what it’s purpose was left there for I’ll have to try that fuse out

I had the understanding those spare fuses were an always on state, similar to the headlight wiring. I figured the logicboard controlling the lights themselves dictated when the power was drawn. The surround isn’t on with the truck off, only when you turn the headlights on manually or when the vehicle is started. The Bugatti sequence only happens on ignition

That’s not an always on circuit then - it’s a circuit that’s on when the trucks on (or in ACC)

I recently received my Morimoto V2 headlights. Here is the harness that it came with. Forgive my ignorance, but is this the micro or mini fuse tap harness?

That's the mini. You need the micro. And by need, I mean you can just cut that and crimp on a micro like most of us have done (vs waiting for the vendor to send you one)
