Hey man, don't get offended. I think the guys are just trying to help us out. I agree, it is a great price for the filter. But if there is actual data and fact out there saying this filter is not as good as I (keyword: I) think it is then I want to try and switch. I only did 5 minutes research and found the motorcraft filters are supposedly really good?? Anybody have any thoughts about that?

I'm not offended at all and I appreciate the collaboration. I'm not going to get in a heated debate over which is better seeing I’ve read and heard both sides; I for one am not an engineer. I know semi- professional drivers who use both filters (amsoil and Mobil 1) and will stand by them. If amsoil wasn't so expensive I would run it. That being said our trucks are not super cars so a mid grade oil filter will do just fine. To each his own as stated above.

Support your forum vendors, if you like Amsoil. But to verify, the Amsoil filter number is EAO11 for anyone that just wants to know...

Btw, no other filter on the market can compete with the Amsoil filters, that is a fact, not just opinion...

Motorcraft meets Ford's requirements of course if use them then Ford is not going to give you any issue with a oil filter related issue. I think it is a better filter in my opinion I have not sat down and taken apart a Motorcraft but I will put it on my to do list. I have seen the insides of several filters and made measurements to media size, have never done a media flow test. Some filters catch more material before they open the bypass valve. As far as the Mobil one filter I am just passing along information each person can do with that information what they want. I am not saying the Mobil one will not work as a filter. I am saying it is not the best out there or available for us to use. In my opinion, but keep passing along information about specials and deals I am always interested in saving money...

Just FYI, for the Ford Warranty requirement discussion. Ford cannot give anyone any grief over the filters they choose to use. The only way they can legally do that is if they provide the filters at no cost. AMSOIL Ea filters filter to a 98.7% efficiency rating down to 20 microns. No other filter can claim that and most come in around 50-60% efficiency at 20 microns. This is without interrupting or restricting oil flow. That being said, filtration on a $50-60K truck is VERY important. Dirt and other contaminants will cause scarring and other issue to the cylinders and bearings. Now, this may not be an issue if you plan to get rid of the truck within just a couple of years, but you may also see a loss over time in efficiency and engine performance as a result. No offense to anyone, but just saying you never saw any issue with the cheaper filters doesn't mean that there wasn't internal damage to the engine as a result. The only way to tell that would be to tear the engine apart and look at the condition of the internal parts.

Now for my personal opinion. We all work hard for our money and I assume want to protect our investment in our rides. Using the best filtration possible is real cheap insurance to ensure that you are doing just that. If cheap is all you are concerned with, to each his own.

I will also add, buy from me as a forum member and save, or don't. I will NOT be offended. While I appreciate the support, those that know me from the other forums I sponsor can testify to the fact that my main goal as a vendor is simply to provide what I consider to be the best possible quality at the best possible pricing for the members I was asked to support. Many members here and elsewhere ask for quotes from me and then go directly to the AMSOIL website to place their orders, whether it is that they don't like me personally or whatever the case. Either way, the AMSOIL filters are the best choice for those that want to protect their investments
