I am not trying to start something when I say this, but a Super Cab would have a much easier time due to the shorter wheelbase.

Ford didn't take any SCrew's. There is one section in one of the videos I posted where they come down a drop off which may be what @Trick_Raptor was referring to at the end of the trail. IMO it looked as if they would scrape the front bumper if they continued but with a front bumper that has frame horns cut for better approach angle, it looked like it would clear. Same with Tip Over Challenge, the rear scraped but a dove tailed bed would have cleared.

@factive do you think if you had a dovetailed bed and a front bumper with frame horns cut you would have had the clearance and approach angles? From the footage I have seen it looks like that would give you enough to clear everything. Could be wrong. Cool pics if you got more throw em up please.

I don't think the front really scraped. Its the back that was the problem. The dovetail rear would definitely help along with a higher clearance bumper but I think you would still have some problem areas. Probably not enough to cause damage. But don't forget I dinged up my driveshaft too. I also forgot to mention the running boards are bowed now on my truck from the trip but I don't really care about those.

The rest of the trail is OK while using the bypass? What about the exit? I'm reading there is a drop off but conflicting info on if it is really bad or not bad depending on vehicle...

Yeah, I think you could bypass most of the problem areas but you'd probably still have a few places where you scrape the rear bumper. The end of the trail was tricky. I was following some other people and the route they knew was closed off so we had to go out some other way. Some guys in a Jeep actually came after us saying we were on private property, etc but ended up letting us go. It was pretty tricky getting out but I don't remember a drop off. Just some really rocky areas. A dodge truck was coming out at the same time and he almost rolled his truck on the exit.

I see that dog wasn't going to squeeze into a SCAB... Don't lie, you were planning ahead.

He spends all of his time trying to get in the front seat. It's how we end up with awesome selfies.

Good to know... HR is one way, correct? As for the rear bumper I was thinking about a heavy duty 2" receiver hitch hook like this...

I just had Ford replace me trailer hitch plug for the 3rd time! It's been ripped off my truck every year at TRR. Last time it happened I just cut the whole cable off and left the plug mount empty. This week while Ford was replacing my IWE's, I had them wire up a new one and install it. $300 a pop!!

Well after Factive's report on Hell's Revenge I got this and hope it will help minimize any damage to the rear. I've seen others do this so who knows...

We leave for Monument Valley and Moab in three days :)
