Hey everyone, I was looking at the roof of my '18 today and the welds where the roofline and doors meet caught my eye and just seemed like they're missing a covering of some sort. Towards the back I can see a 'cover' or trim piece but it doesn't run along the whole roof.

Notice how you can see the exposed corners of the windshield. Is there supposed to be a trim piece?

I'm seeing bit of variation across the board in this area in 15+ f150s but yours is by far the worst I've seen. The seam sealer robot apparently was out of calibration or something when your truck was built. What was the build date on your truck. Here is what mine looks like. Build 2/17/17LWP9ZF6.jpg

yea just looked at mine. Not the best job but not the worst looking at some of these pictures.

Definitely something they could have done better.

According to the window sticker, my blend date was 220170829 so I assume 8-29-17 right?

Yeah you'd think Ford would at least throw a trim piece up there, but I guess the consolation is that it's so high up you won't notice it unless you were looking for it.

You're drunk Automatic Machine Welder, go home.

It's noticeable on the passenger side on mine, not that bad though.

This has been an issue since the 2015s first rolled out. Tons of posts about it at the F150 forum.

I noticed this on my 18 as well. Not really happy about it on a 70k truck. Why can't we get better fit and finish?

I recently read somewhere about how ford changed the welding technique for the roof of the truck. Not sure if this has something to do with it but supposedly it causes costly repairs if the truck is hit from the side
