Mishimoto: Stay the F#ck Away

It seems the Mishimoto name is not what it once was. After reading the former reviews of their Catch Can system, I chose to spend my $$$ elsewhere.

You're about the only person on here that makes sense. The idiots that put JLT on their turbo rides have no clue what they are doing. With a turbo engine you must have a dual valve system or it's just catching during idle...such a waste and shows the ignorance of the people installing them. With so much information our there it's amazing how dumb people are about catch cans. They will put premium fuel in their rides and scoff at a catch can which improves fuel air quality amongst other things. They say why bother then put on a CAI kit. amazing. Ever known anyone who thinks it would be a good idea to dump the contents of a catch can back into their fuel tank...nope me either. Good on you man!!

Odd because I know plenty of people who use their products without issue. Perhaps this is an issue limited to a big brand trying to make a product for a vehicle that they didn't have enough time to do the research on before putting the product out.

I have considered their radiator for my truck, as its about half the price of a CBR radiator.

It’s not hard to drill a hole to use the UPR catch can system. I think the whole install took 20-30mins.

You can option the pre drilled inlet tube....which is what I did. JLT might be doing it's job but it's job is to only catch during idle conditions. I just don't see the point of not doing it right. Not doing it at all is another option I understand. Putting a single valve can on a turbo vehicle is just a waste of money. Under boost when you would want the cleanest fuel the JLT does nothing. While idling there is no real benefit in cleaning the air/fuel since port injection is cleaning the valves already and all the JLT does is create another maintenance item that provides no benefit. If you know that going in then obviously it's your truck and your thing but most don't understand.

The point of a Catch Can is to catch oil and other gunk that might be recirculated from the crank case vent back into the intake. Most of the contaminants are from blow by, which can increased by forced induction. I have one on my GEN1 even though I'm naturally aspirated and I still have a bunch of gunk in mine when I empty it every few thousand miles that otherwise would have gone back into the engine.

Most cheap catch cans out there really do very little anyways.
