Ditching the UPR catch can for the Mishimoto setup. Ordered one today! (*edited... well after said item being on backorder for so long, almost 3months, I went with JLT instead)

Swapping because adding the AMS turbo inlet tubes and didn't want to drill into the new tube. AMS was no help for the UPR setup with their product.

Greetings. I am writing this post to see if anyone has had experience with this particular catch can and the Gen 2 throwing a CEL (P04DB, driver side CCV). I have a 2017 SCAB with about 18K miles on it and installed this catch can at about 16K miles. It consistently throws a CEL after about 50 miles of driving. I have reset it several times and it always comes back.

I contacted Mishimoto support (Tim) and basically, they just had me verify all hose connectors were tight and the dip stick/oil cap was snug. Beyond that they don’t seem to have any ideas on things to try. The truck does not throw a CEL when the driver side OEM CCV hose is attached. It only happens once the small can is placed inline with their hose set up.

Additionally, my 2017 had the electronic flow sensor attached to the CCV port via a hard-molded connector (picture below). This meant I had to leave the flow sensor and connector in the original location versus following the Mishimoto instructions to relocate it down stream. Not sure if that is having any impact.

I would love to get this thing working. The PCV side has collected about one tablespoon so far and the CCV side a few drops.

I also have a 2017 and installed the can from RX performance, my CEL also comes in. The vacuum sensor is super sensitive on the valve cover and if the vacuum is off slightly it will turn on the CEL. I have been working with RX and yet the problem has not been fix.

Look at the instructions! You put the crankcase pressure sensor in the wrong spot

As I stated, the sensor stayed in the OEM position due to the hard molded connector. Mishimoto was informed of this but didn’t think it should matter. I may be able to purchase a separate sensor and move it. I would do that if I knew it was a sure fix. Was just checking here for any experiences that have been similar.

Additionally, the sensor’s wiring harness on my 2017 is very short and tight. To reach the location referenced in the Mishimoto instructions would mean cutting apart the harness and extending the wiring. I prefer not to do that if not absolutely necessary.

Heat up the coupler to soften around the sensor (heat gun works well) and it will separate. There's enough slack in the harness to move the sensor.

Mines been installed since November, no issues

I have done that with the pressure sensor, curing it out of the OEM hose and installing it on their hose, moving it to different spot further from the valve cover but that didn’t help with the CLE. The factory sensor wires were too short to move it too far. Then they told me to put it back to OEM which I have to go out and buy a new OEM sensor with the OEM hose, reinstalling it with a new check valves they send me and THAT didn’t help. So my CEL still coms on. I know of a lot of people also have the same problem with no solutions yet.
