Ok just got a call from ford. The alternator is bad and starving the computers. So $100 deductible and it's good. Should be back running strong tomorrow.
And Greg, my cans were solid engineering. I even used packing tape instead of that cheap duct type crap.

Did you go with the stock alternator? Or upgraded?

Any ideas as to what caused it?

I have no idea what ford replaced it with. And they dont know what caused it. Probably from jump starting a skid steer loader. Power draw was too much and killed it.

$210!!!? Thats more than an Optima battery!

Optima quality has gone way down hill. This is made by odessey who make great batteries and has a way better warranty than optima. Also if I have a problem with it I just ride over to any sears and swap it out

I'd like to get one, but it's hard to justify getting rid of a battery that is only 1 year old.

haha nice! and it is running good as new. no battery light, the transmission is shifting normal.
Now I just need to retrain the transmission how I drive. Like a bat out of HELL all the time!!!
