Making the tailgate proof with a backflip

So riddle me this... what have you all done to "dust proof" your bed with a backflip installed? Since Im lucky enough to get my truck in the dirt every day (construction), I put on the back flip thinking not only would I have secure storage in the bed, but also itd be a nice clean, tranquil, dirt free world... perfect for sleeping bags and pillows. Boy was I in for a surprise after opening up my bed after a few days of having the backflip on. Thing was dustier than a Egyptian tomb! After checking it here and there the last few months I noticed vast majority of the dust came in through the gap between the bed and the tailgate.

Has anyone done something about this? Any good weather stripping made for this application/truck? Like door grade stuff... not cheap ass home depot sticky back foam.

I would LOVE to be able to make the bed into a way cleaner place! Especially since Im OCD on certain things and not to mention a big fan of sleeping in the bed when I go camping... get a nice matress topper... blankets and a pillow... oh ya!

i have used my onboard air with an air nozzle to clean out the bed. other than completely sealing off the cover, tailgate, and any other gap, but i think you are going to in a losing battle. dust will find a way in.

Give up now. Living on a dirt road it's impossible. I think it may trap more dirt because there's nothing to blow it around. Kick up all that dust and it gets in then settles.

Unless the bed is totally air tight, positive air pressure inside the bed would be the only way to keep dust particles from entering...or drive around in a bubble like this one.

They do make tailgate seal kits but I tend to agree with the opinions above. You are going to have a hard time keeping it out.

I have tried a couple quality tailgate seals. No luck slowing down dust or water intrusion. Wish there was a solution to stop the majority of it. I certainly haven't found an answer yet.

Well damn... that sucks. You know its bad when you have more dust in your bed on a day to day basis with a cover ON than you do having nothing at all. At least with no cover it gets blown out when I hit the highway.

During TRR and havoc in the hills I remove my cover. It corrects top much dust.
