I have both 20" M&R behind the grill and a 20" Rigid in the ADD venom bumper and RatedSVT's description is prettied right on. The Rigid has further straight line output and M&R more of floodlight pattern. They work great together. I'm sure the M&R being mounted behind the grill does affect the output. Though, I am happy with both of them.

I returned my M&R in favor of a Rigid because of the beam pattern. I have enough light right in front of the truck and wanted something that would light a path in front of my truck out in the distance. I have no regrets with the Rigid. I stood up to a pounding on the SnoBall. I did hear reports of some M&R bars and fogs having issues, and M&R was prompt to replace. Kudos to those guys for great customer service.

For people who aren't going to be offroad much, I think the M&R is the better choice due to cost. For those of us who need to light up the night while tearing through the forest, I recommend to people a narrower beam that throws farther.

I personally have 3 light sources that throw in a narrow beam, and then my headlights and my HIDX that are more flood-like. The headlights are my "flood" beam and the HIDX are a euro which for a trail at night worked great, except with it was snowing. Too much reflection back at me, even with Amber covers.

If your bashing one brand even before the test I don't think anyone will be interested in a biased result, except maybe M&R of course.

All that aside - I just want to to see a straight up, side by side, what do they have shot.

I had a Rigid 20" take on water and 2 seperate Duallys (that I finally gave up on and returned) take on water. This doesnt have anything to do with that though. I'm purely speaking beam/brightness.

We carry 30degreez which is spot, 60degrees which is flood, and we even have 12degrees which is super spot and likely what you are comparing

Will I will say both the 30 and 40 m&r led bars must be "super floods" because my 35 watt HID and m&r fog lights have more throw than both led bars combined.

Well I received the M&R 40" bar yesterday and I must say initial quality is impressive. Nicely built bar very similar to my Rigid.

Not knocking one of the other but here are the physical differences:

As far as appearance wise, the main noticable difference is the M&R has more of a chrome/reflector look to it just due to the fact that the LED modules are more flat than Rigids. The Rigid has a larger "dip in" towards the LED light itself. The only other differences are that the screws that hold the chrome/mirrored LED module into place are a little more larger and more noticable on the M&R and the actual LED doesnt have a "dome cap" over them like the Rigids do. The fact that the "dome cap" is missing sort of creates a yellow effect.

All of that is purely cosmetic. A vs B.

The real test shortly.... fired up.

Sorry guys... no pics tonight. Raining.

Install went well and so far both lights appear about the same. As others have said, the M&R bar has a little more "flood" effect vs the Rigid combo bar.

Very nice for the $$$.

Pics soon.
