One thing to note, if you are using the stock mounting bolt in the frame, they WILL NOT hold up to off roading your truck. The nut on the underside of the frame horn is only nylon/plastic.

I STRONGLY recommend drilling out the plastic and replacing. The hole in the frame is square so a 3/8 stainless steel carriage bolt fits perfecly from the bottom. Add your light bar bracket a lock washer, some blue loctite and crank down the nut.

At TRR my 40" bar broke that nut and was flopping around under the hood. I'm lucky that it didn't damage my coolers. Those bars are heave and need solid mounting. I know it's convenient to re-use the stock mounting location and hardware, but if you off road, you are asking for trouble.

in Reading this post it appears that for people who will be using them mostly for dark roads and not off road should consider a combo for both which brings me to what I think my best options is, as I get uhm a little older it is harder for me to see on dark roads, so I need a combo of both close and wide beam and also a distance light, so what do you guys think of
20 Rigid for the lower to get further out, the 40" M and R behind the grill to give me more of a closer wide angle,
then the Duallys down low on each side with a Driving white and a flood amber, hav enot seen if M and R has those or not

now for the back up, I ma not sure, but I did see someone recess the Rigid D series in their bumper, does anyone have any pictures of those lights on

calhoun, I would think a combo of flood and driving fog lights would well for your purposes. You can turn one or both on as you choose. I have that combo in rigid duallies and its works great. I also have a set of hood mounted D2s that will light up the next county if you need that. I never use the hood mounts for street driving.
