I believe the stealership quoted it to you right. I have seen write ups on this mod in the past and it's not a cheap piece. They have been building this console for a while check online for used ones from salvage yards. Good Luck

Got mine on eBay new in sealed ford box, 230~

Yes you do. The pad and the inside plastic separate with like 8 torx screws. The lock is inside this plastic part. I just swapped the inside plastic portion between the two lids. Took like 5 min.

could you send me the dimensions of the lid cover and arm rest area that would be covered? I will make a minicell foam pad that will fit both areas and install with double backed tape before the long drive home down the coast.

Has anyone attempted to do this themselves by matching the leather and covering the stock raptor one with soft foam ?

I am interested in this mod as well and I have done some research and I have found two part numbers BL3Z-1606024-BA and 9L3Z-1506024-CC.
I have also priced the two part numbers and the 9L3Z-1506024-CC is approx $150 and the BL3Z-1606024-BA is approx $260. Does anybody know why the price difference? It is my understanding that these parts are the same. Thanks

If I remember right the cheaper one has grey stitching and the more expensive one has black stitching.
