Did you hydro dip the shifter as well? I feel like that would be tricky.
Originally i wrapped both pieces but the curved one looked terrible so i dipped that one but left the lower rectangular part wrapped. It looked similar enough that i didn’t think it was worth dipping. The curved part was actually pretty easy since it’s really only 1 side

I de-chromed mine as well but i went with hydro dipping for some of the parts. It was pretty easy with a kit from Amazon and a plastic bin and has held up pretty well for the last 4 years. I also painted the speaker grills with matte black.

Excellent work! Looks great! I'm still hunting for a set of gray non-Sony speaker grilles that I can paint black. I have the black ones from my Limited, but I want to remove the Sony badges without it looking funky.

Yeah. Mine are sleeper grills. I have a full custom audio system with morel speakers. But taking off the Sony badges would look goofy

Yea, like I said, that's why I'm trying to find a set of non-Sony ones as they didn't have the indents on them or the holes. They still need to be painted though, no such thing as factory black ones that were non-Sony. All my audio stuff has been changed as well which is why I want to remove them.

Would you be interested in a custom badge? I could laser etch a piece of acrylic with any text or just cut out a black one and glue it on? I could make some samples and post some pics if you’re interested

I was thinking of doing that as well. If I could get a "Focal" one that would be great as that's what I'm running for speakers.
