Driving around town today put it in sport mode and on deceleration heard a loud pop almost when coming to a stop from the front area of the truck,Has never happened before, thought it was in my head then it happened again only when decelerating almost to a stop, never had a misfire def didn’t sound like one, and it was coming from the front of the truck, everything looks tight, could this be the factory bov going bad? Anyone experience this before?

Pops and burbles are awesome. You should hear my M3, lol. Sounds like it might be normal overrun pops to me. This happens on turbo cars with more aggressive timing. Some unburned fuel makes it to the cats and ignites, giving you a pop that sounds like a backfire. Usually this happens when you lift off the throttle though, not when rolling to a stop. I’m not clear from your post whether it is happening after you lift off the throttle. Is it possible you are not hearing it then due to more road noise? Anyway, if you are not throwing codes indicating a misfire, you are probably fine.

Never got any message on the dash when I got home and checked it had the following codes
P0555-brake booster pressure sensor
P05B0-grill shutter b
U0155
The new ones are the first two, I cleared them and doing a reset let’s hope that’s the end of it, does anyone know if the brake booster sensor could cause something like this

Gear head tune, ams tubes, Cobb cai, awe 2fg exhaust

my understanding with gear head is that it’s a pretty safe tune limits the psi to 18lbs of boost, I have maybe 200 miles on the awe exhaust, maybe it is an exhaust pop, I have no idea

Don’t think an exhaust pop would be from the front of the truck. I’ve heard an intercooler tube pop on another vehicle but that’s under boost not decel

When it popped did it feel like you could have run over something even though you actually didn’t?

Yea, kind of, Just filled up and put in sport mode, never has happened before, found a 2 year old thread that others experienced something similar after a fill up but there was no resolve to it, can anyone comment if they fixed this issue, what was the cause? After clearing those codes they haven’t returned yet but only have driven around for 10 miles or so

It’s a emission thing , pop is from exhaust for sure and only after gas tank is filled up , as soon as I switched to borla atak exhaust fill up and coast down to stop , un burned fuel can pop or even loud bang , never heard it before exhaust change , also did it before and after my tune installed . 60,000 Kms , I’m not worried any more , hope this helps
