This is hilarious! No kid in high school needs a damn Raptor or FX4. You should be driving some kind of beater to teach you the value of not being an IDIOT in an automobile. Like others have said, I would have given you a bus pass or bicycle, no sympathy for stupidity here.

^Almost everyone else here is pretty ridiculous, and just wow...

Are you all (most of you) serious?

I won't divulge what my OLD username was but I got butchered on here for asking a legitimate question that no-one seemed to want to answer civilly.

Why hasn't this kid been FLAMED the f--- out of here? One of the only worthy comments on this thread was the one that extolled the FX4 for NOT being a poverty vehicle. Where are the posters that should be tearing into this kid for Daddy's money huh??? Because I mean that's just what society has socialized into us by saying if it wasn't purchased by us but given then we are worthless people.

Whatever, I drove a GT500 through high school and only got one ticket for speeding to get to another class off-campus. There is such a thing as a responsible rich kid guys. Its just called not being an *******.

What was your old username? Might make a lot of sense after reading this rant....

When I was 15 and got my raptor, I had no idea what to do in college. After I visited my cousins in Arizona and got it out in the dirt, I decided to go into petroleum engineering out of college and move out west to be around what I love - desert racing. Not only did the raptor motivate me, it also motivated me to open my own business. I've made $30000 and paid my parents that much back so far towards the $55000 price tag. Then the 15k in mods plus service, insurance, gas etc, I have busted my ass. I haven't done anything stupid in the raptor.

I did however break an axle shaft and I paid for everything my self in full the day I picked it up.

Having the raptor has been great motivation - I never thought about the desert racing scene before but I cannot stand the red neck mud bogging around here. How stupid... Desert racing just makes me happy! The raptor is a good starter but I'd like to get a true pre-runner one day.

OP - the FX4 is far from a piece of crap. And try to refrain from marking it that way - they are super nice. If I ever did anything stupid and got mine taken away, I would be SOL. I literally had to rent my mom's vehicle while my raptor was broken for a month. And trust me, she doesn't go easy on that fee. Luckily our local dealership gave us a rental car so we would have 3 vehicles between me, dad and mom.

Please, it would be in your best interest to go back and reword your original post. There is no need to be arrogant. We have hard working men and women on this site that started with nothing or very little and have worked hard to get to the top. Don't rub it in their face!

Look on the bright side if/when you get it back, I can put a console lid like this in it for you:

This is all really eye opening for me. I'm just 26 so the teenage years aren't far behind me, but true to RaptorWifey's philosophy my first car was a '93 Civic stick shift (thanks entirely to Dad). It probably had 50 hp in that 4-banger, which was perfect for a 16 y/o. I remember being jealous of a rich girl's Grand Cherokee in the high school parking lot.

I am busting my ass to keep my retirement plans maxed out and make payments on my Raptor, and this thing has a ton of power stock. I absolutely cannot imagine being at the wheel of such an expensive, powerful vehicle as a brand new driver, let alone making the payments on it for my brand-new-driver son. I think if I'm driving along and see a 16 y/o next to me at a red light in one of these, I'm going to divert ASAP. A $50k+, 411+ hp vehicle for a new driver. Amazing.

There is nothing inconsiderate or arrogant in the first or following post from the OP. Perhaps I am just not seeing it but everyone is taking the issue over the top. He never said anything degrading to anyone nor did he degrade the FX4, everyone thinks he did because of all the onslaught of comments when people are just reading the latest post in the thread. Go back and read what he said.
