^^^ I think the point is he was complaining that he had to drive an fx4 as punishment for something he didn't pay for. No body said he wasn't welcome or that they didn't like him. It's the entitled attitude that people don't like.

Could've said, I screwed up and though I'm fortunate enough to have a raptor my parents took it due to my driving habits. Hopefully I can earn it back sooner than later.

Instead we saw, oh I did a small burnout, I'm cool but now dad took my raptor away and I'm being punished by having to use a pos fx4 to get to school where there's a free bus twice a day, can you imagine what I'm going through ?! I don't know if I'm going to make it!

You can say the same thing with different words and have a totally different impact. I don't expect someone with little life experience to have the entire just of this method but at least give it a try and not throw a tantrum on the Internet.

Seems some people are reading much too far in to some of these comments.

This being said I see your point and respect what you said.

If you look at the OP first post. He never complained or said anything bad about anyone nor looked for anyone's sympathy. He merely was saying goodbye and even make comment about mods we love. Then he just said he was driving an FX4 and misses the raptor and who wouldn't.

Whole thing is blown out of proportion. Personally I could care less about someone doing a burnout (big deal!!) and if the Dean at my son's college called me, I would just laugh at him and tell him to not call me again over stupid shit. Burnout, big whoopee do.

I got my raptor when I was seventeen. I didn't take it as being "mine," it didn't make me think I was better than anyone and it didn't make me think I was entitled to having nice things. But it actually made me strive to improve myself and someday be able to have the life my parents have. They are his parents and they will raise him however they want so why is it so important for you to call him names and bash him about what he has? You don't have to take it upon yourselves to be ********. I'm sure at least some of us came here to talk about their passion for the truck with nice people and share memories/experiences. IMO all this shows him is that he isn't welcome here. It shows that with anything he says, he is always going to get an ******* response no matter how nice of a guy he is. Please don't prove me right. Most of you are parents and work extremely hard for what you have and I respect that completely. But not all people raise their children the same and that doesn't make them worse than you. Show some love for the people who got lucky and just want to be a part of something they are passionate about. If you don't feel that way try to accept that we all have our differences and if you don't care for someone just let it go and focus on another thread.

You can bash me all you want for saying this. It won't bother me. Just please give him some air.

I'd like to know what response you think he was expecting? Or better yet, maybe he can chime in with that. I mean I do understand that its also a characteristic of your generation to not take criticism well, but you really got this upset over it and felt the need to come to his defense? No one said he wasn't welcome, we have several people on this forum his age. And who the heck called him names? I called him skippy, but if that hurts your feelings maybe you need to shake some of the sand out of your ********.

I know you've heard it before and I know you think I'm full of it, but hopefully you are all going to take a look back at yourselves as teenagers and laugh. I find those years quit funny, and I never even did a burnout or gave my dad a reason to gank my Cavalier yo...

Must be rough... Parents got you a raptor & punished you by making you drive an fx4 f-150? Cry me a river.

With all the stupid stuff I did in high school, my Dad would have given me a pat on the back and hung up on the principal for a simple burnout. That would have been a stellar day at school for me. But a burnout would have been tough with a '71 International Scout.
